Base of bullet bearing surface larger?

Anybody run into bullets that have a larger diameter right at the base of the bearing surface before the boat tail?

I have a box of Berger .338 OTM and the very bottom of the bearing surface measures .339

What I have discovered that this does is swages out the case neck a bit and reduces bullet grip.

Thanks

That's the proverbial "pressure ring" you are referring to.. I dislike them.. IF all bullets have these, they are certainly more noticeable on Berger's than other brands..

Measured 8 different Bergers in 3 other calibers and only two of the Hybrids showed a 1/2 a thousandths larger at the base of the bearing surface, not a full thousandths. All the others were right at the caliber dimension.

Measured one Lapua .338 and it was right at .338 also

I will measure some more Lapuas and Hornadys later and see about them.

Thanks
