Bart Sauter Interviews with Erik Cortina

Great interview !
CONGRATULATIONS on making the world team!

I understood everything you guys talked about. I will sure use the info you shared.

What do you do with the barrels that aren't up to snuff ?

Y'all didn't talk about Barrel heat &
barrel tuners.
Testing during off season cooler weather vs shooting in Warner days.

I admire Bart as a fellow competitor and someone who is willing to divulge many of his techniques in putting together a winning combination.

I watched the entire conversation and found it to be loaded with a good old common sense approach to solving the extreme accuracy equation.

The first time I met Bart and Billy was at a NBRSA Nationals some twenty odd 20 years ago. I knew that they were both retired military, to be exact, retired Colonels. As one who was a Draftee, I was pretty apprehensive about sitting down and having a chat with two Field Grade Officers. (If you were ever in the Army, you know what I am speaking of).

After some conversation, I told both as much. Rather jokingly, I looked at Billy and told him about my apprehensions, heck, back then he could have had me shot.

Billy looked at me with that stern expression and said, “I can still have you shot”.

Both Bart and Billy represent what is good in men.

I picked up a rifle from Billy when he and Bart were shooting at Manatee. I had no fear that Billy was going to shoot me or do me any harm, but that little dog of his was another story.

Poor little dog lost the battle against that rattler though.

I think Ebb is referring to T.Y.F.L.O. ( short for Tear Your F@#king Leg Off!)! She was bad to take a hunk out of company. She lived to a ripe old age and passed away peacefully Here in Kentucky.

Jackson was the little fella who scum to the rattlesnake bite. He wasn’t nearly as likely to cut you as Ty. However he was a mean drunk and bit me on more than one occasion when I refused to give him alcohol.

Yes now that i have seen the picture is was TY. My wife had to have brain surgery for a benign tumor and made it through with flying colors but deaf in her left ear. She has a miniature Australian Shepard that is fast becoming an agility champion. This 19 lb dog also herds sheep and has learned to be my wife's hearing dog. She will stay to Cathy's left side and warn her is someone approaches. She will jump up in bed when Cathy is asleep and lick her on the nose if she or her sister need to go outside to do business, if the alarm goes off or if the phone rings. She has learned this all by herself, but now Cathy is working with a trainer to get the dog certified as a companion dog. They are way smarter than we think.

Like you, I met Bart and Billy at the Super shoot 10 or 12 yrs back through a mutual friend. Later on spent some time at their home and am 100% in agreement with you. They believe in sharing information that will help you beat them in a match! Of course the only thing that neither of them could fix for me was the link between the trigger and the stool, but they sure improved my game. Don't want to make Bart's head any bigger but I truly respect and appreciate the both of them... John

I met Bart and Billy in 2005 at the Super Shoot. I was introduced to them by Dick Wright. Almost immediately Dick pointed at Ty and said, watch that little bitch she will bite you. I think Ty knew Dick was a cat lover.
Just a short while later Jackson was setting on my lap and I was petting Ty while Dick was just baffled to see that.
These two gentlemen are still some of the best people I have met in this sport.
