KUDOS To Erik Cortina

Thanks guys, you are all too kind.

Ben (Shootdots), I doubt we have ever shot in these conditions at Bayou. I think that because the targets would not handle it. I shot an 8 in my first string, and that's at 600 yards! It is hard to explain how tough the conditions were, but you had to be on your toes the entire time! I did manage to shoot a good score on the last string which is the one that got me the agg win, but I had to be very patient. I had to pick my way through it at times and others I had to "shoot and move" to keep up with the conditions. It was exhausting!

Well Erik, the "tools" you needed to even shoot to win had to come from somewhere. The point is, is that you have LEARNED to use those tools, even in the worst of conditions! That is what makes a GREAT shooter as opposed to a "decent shot".. In order to even get to the place where you could "work your way" thru every shot had to come from experience and learning from mistakes! That and the fact you don't "buckle" under the "competitive weight" is what I was lauding you about.. Now make sure you do the same for EVERY INDIVIDUAL MATCH from here on out! I want to see a "Bayou Rifles" representative take home the gold!

Congrats, Erik, well done!

I know I should have looked to see if maybe you have posted one already, but how about a video on Wind Reading for Extreme Windy Conditions? ;)

I agree, nothing wrong with a Savage LRPV or their Target action. Congrats to you Erik on a HUGE achievement!!

All joking aside Erik what rifle/scope/load were you using?

I'm pretty sure that Erik was shooting a Panda F-Class, .284 Shehane Brux barrel and Lapua 180 g Scenar-L bullets. Erik chambers and fits his own barrels and it appears to work. ;)

My gun is the red one used as a thumbnail for this video.

Panda F-Class action, NXS scope, Brux barrel, Shurley brothers Lowrider stock, and EC Tuner of course. ;)

Thanks guys. Shot the 1000 yard individual today as well as 1,000 yard team match. I think team Lapua-Brux ended up 2nd overall. :)

That is excellent! First in Mid-Range, now 2nd in Team! Not bad at all!

I love Erik's rifle. Somebody made a comment above I will reply to.

I have several Savages. I might trade one of them for the Kelby set up above!

Congradulations Erik.
