I'd like a nut barrel, if possible.

I do not think that is possible because I'm pretty sure you have an extractor cut out on the back of the tang. I don't know what the thread is but I don't think they make a nut.

I think you can send it back to Ruger.

I've just been trying to talk myself into trying one of your barrels, and that rifle was my prime suspect.

I did a little looking, and it ought to be possible. The shank thread is 1" @16 tpi. Shank length is listed at .69 inches, and looks to be. (Seems short) And of course I don't know about finding a nut. jd

Can you do the same for the 6 mm barrels? Would the muzzle diameter be larger than .86 for the heavy varmint and .75 for the light varmint on a short 16.5" barrel after cutting them down to length?

The taper is for a 27 inch barrel diameter. So, they get bigger at the muzzle the shorter you cut them. But not much.
