Barrel manufacturers use borescopes?

I could see waiting till the end of the day to clean if you didn't have time, or you had to fire the whole match without it for 100 rounds, but just letting it go for 3000 rounds and telling someone about it? That's just carrying a spear. That barrel was toast long before it was taken off.

I used mine today also. Looked through the spark plug hole for wear or scoring on a cylinder wall. Very useful. Unlike a cylinder when I took a look at a couple of my barrels, I had NO idea what I should be seeing or looking for. Never spent 2 seconds in a rifle barrel bore scope class. The rifles shoot very well. What I saw was I guess somewhat interesting.
I guess it’s another tool but honestly the end result is the size of the group. Nothing else.

I just had my Teslong in a spark plug hole checking a cylinder a few days ago.

In across the course, we shoot at 2 MOA 10 rings and 1 MOA X rings. Assuming we had a 3/4 MOA load, we'd expect that to grow well beyond an MOA with a lot less than 1,000 rounds. We'd expect a carbon ring to build that would increase pressure and further decrease accuracy.

yes barrel makers use bore scopes they are wonderful tools to keep an eye out for fouling

@FrankG posts pictures of them, so he does use them. Probably not on every barrel, but definitely when someone uses a drill and a brush to clean their barrels

Have two of them hooked up to high definition tv monitors....use them all day long.

Not to mention when someone sends something back.
