Barnes LRX Bullets

I picked up a box to try in my 300WSM. Loaded up a few today with RL-17 x 175 gr LRX x CCI250 primers. The load will need to be adjusted/tuned slightly but it's close right now. Horrible conditions with wind (lots), 36 degrees and poor visability. Right around 1/2 minute at 300 yds. This is with a 10x hunting scope and a hunting trigger. I was surpeised at how flat they shot compared to 168 Bergers. 2" high at 100 & 3" low at 300. I didn't chrono anything today because it was raining on & off and didn't want to fool with it but I think that I just found my next hunting bullet for the 300WSM.

I just used the 168gr 7MM LRX in my 7WSM this past season and it shot very well. I was happy to see Barnes put a heavier bullet in their 7MM lineup as I've always been a fan of the TSX for hunting.

I am shooting the 280 grain LRX out of my 338 Lapua and 145 grain LRX from my 7mm-08, will be shooting the 168 grain LRX's from a 284 win in about 4 months (waiting on barrel). My longest kill with the 280 grain LRX this season was 486 yards on two antelope. closest was a mule deer at 330 yards, along with a big ol cow elk at 378 yards. I am very, very, satisfied with their terminal performance, along with there ability to stay stable when under the speed of sound at 1820 yards. If anyone has any questions about the 280 grain LRX PM me.
