I agree , however in remote parts of the country ,Idaho,Montana, Wyoming the ranchers shoot, shovel and shut up, despite a hefty $25000 fine if ever caught. I've had a pair living here for years now never even killed a chicken, mostly suckers and carp and an occasional bass on the river. This guy hangs out down the road been there quite awhile eats lots of carrion usually, however a young juvenile attacked some hens a year ago and got his feathers throttled by this Liege fighter gamecock, a rooster that specifically hates raptors and protects his hens from attacks,he is 2 feet tall to head and weighs 11 lbs, quite a remarkable breed if you read about them.I keep roosters for hen protection, but roosters must be kept separate. While the bald eagle is a beautiful bird...I get pissed off at them every year when duck and goose hunting.
When there is a bald eagle around there will normally be no ducks or geese around either. While out goose
hunting one year I watched a bald eagle take down a Canada goose in mid air...about hour or so I went
down to where the eagle was and just about all the goose was consumed. I know it sounds crazy but sometimes
I wish there was a season on them.![]()
