bald eagle rest

Yes, from bullets .com. I'm really liking the windage adjustable one. I see that there are specs listed on a few as having a 5-3/8" opening I believe and the 3" wide(inside) protektor front bag is said to measure at 5-3/4". I'm looking for real world fit. Possibly being that it would fit good, a little tight, no way to wide or let a little sand out and you'll will be fine kind of answer.

Foolproof way is to order direct from Protektor. You want a bag that fits under the retaining bars, not one with eyelets you tie on with shoelaces.

Pardon my ignorance but you mean to give Protektor a call and they'll make a custom one to fit the rest correct?

Call them, they most likely have the correct bag in stock or can refer you to a stocking vendor that has that model. If you buy from them they will fill it for you for a minimal fee. They do cater to the individual shooter.

I have the same setup as your asking about. I had to remove the inner Allen screw that holds the ear tension plate and slide it out about a 1/4 inch, on both sides, and just use the outer screw only. And then let a little sand out , then it fit decent.

Do like LHSmith said and call Protecktor. He will make exactly what you want. He makes all different sizes besides the standard one. He does the same for rear bags also. Matt

Thank you all. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and think to yourself- duhh, Why didn't I think of that?

+1 for above, had done same for mine with ease and works just fine.

Well spoke with a nice fella from protektor and we are squared away. He mentioned the screw removal as well so i guess that's a +2 now. I've heard the cradle area was redesigned and made narrower. I'd be guessing that was a ploy to sell more of the eagle bags. Still though- looks like a fine rest , especially for the price. Thank you folks.

I did mine just like kriebles and Martin 22250. I also did away with the cable and disassembled the rest to put the windage adjustment on the left side and put a kroil/white lithium grease mixture On the moving surfaces. The cable had too much backlash in one direction but did fine the other way. I had to change the lube on it because it wouldn't adjust 60 lb bench gun for windage. The spring wouldn't push the rifle back. I could push it one direction and then it would stay. After those few mods It's great. Hard to beat the price and made well.

Funny that you mentioned that!! I'm a southpaw too. Somewhere onine at the bullets.com site it stated to look in the back section to see instructions , with slight mods it can be switched to left hand . Well my brain was smokn tryn to figure it out.... Seeing as in the manual it made no mention. Needless to say my cable is looped under the right quick elevation knob and in a slight bind. Hmmm- how'd you do it?

You guys got some pics of the mods you made to yours.. if I could get the windage to adjust smoother it would be a great rest
