Bad PACT, Bad Chrony, Good CED Chrono

After almost two months at PACT, my PACT chrono came back as bad as it was when I sent it - wouldn't read consistently,I even bought new skyscreens from them as they suggested) - no luck and I was really angry.

Got a Chrony. . .would not read depemdably and appeared to read much faster than the PACT. Sent back to the Chrony factory in New York for a 1,000 shot memory upgrade and remote read-out installation. Same results, still won't read dependably but I can see the error messages better now. This is starting to really suck.

Too many $$$ expended with terrible results from both chronographs. I need a new plan. . .what to do?

Out of sheer desperation, I went to Dillon's retail store in Scottsdale, Arizona and told the counter guy about my problem,s). He says, "look hard at the CED - you'll be glad you did." I took a good hard look at it, went home, checked it out on the internet, and decided "what else do I have to lose except some more $$$." The specs on the internet say the CED is basically as good, if not better than an Oehler. . .I'm getting impressed now.

I went back to Dillon's retail outlet, said a small prayer, crossed myself, bought the CED and took it home.

Bottom line: I have used the CED chronograph at least ten times now in all types of weather and sun conditions. It has never missed a bullet yet, even .177 pellets or 17 caliber types - I even shot a rock out of my wrist-rocket through it successfully), it has never seemed to give a bad,out of spec) reading, it has far better capabilities than either the PACT or the Chrony and so far has been ultra-reliable. Hmmm, why didn't I find out about this sooner? Is CED some kind of big secret or something? It was about the same $$$ as my original PACT with the skyscreens - looks better, works better, more accurate, has more features. . .duh!

As you can tell, I'm elated with the CED I bought - what a GREAT piece of engineering!

Update: Just because I could, I tested the armor-factor of the PACT unit's case with my Winchester 270. Now I know that there is no need to make armor out of the same stuff that the PACT case is made out of - bad idea. Great revenge though - never had so much fun as when I watched that PACT blow up 50 yards away. I should have had it filmed. I also should have thought to pack up the pieces and send it back to PACT to demonstrate my disgust with them. . .but I was too busy partying.

PACT. . .are you guys listening? Your chronograph and customer service are both crap! Every time I get the opportunity, I will be glad to tell anyone who will listen about all your bad service and lack of a quality product. My gift to you after all the kindness you showed me.

CED. . .you guys are awesome just like your products!

Best Regards,
