PACT PRO XP chrono

Any one have one what do you think about them? I had a Pact pc2 for years and it just quit working, I'm going to try to send it back for repairs but I think its time for a new one but haven't decided between the Pact or CED

Have been using a PACT Pro XP for two years. Great chrono.

Bought the first PACT chrono in the 1980s. After 20 years of faithful service managed to blast the front photo cell (don`t ask) and decided to upgrade rather than buy repair parts. So bought the Pro XP. Mail ordered from Texas. Great folks down there.

Once while driving home after a range session I left the battery in the Pro XP. Something must have been bearing against one of the keys and when I got home a two yard ribbon of paper had printed off saying "No front cell reading" or some such thing. No fault of the chrono. Since then I have always removed the battery before driving home.

Ultra violet attacks the white plastic sky screens and I just replaced them. They are cheap and a phone call to Texas had two new pairs mailed north of Lake Erie within a week.

Great customer service.

Send them a check for $14.95 for return shipping and they'll fix it. Send in base unit and skyscreen sensors. No need to send in actual skyscreens.

I went on the Pact website and could not find any info on how its mounted. Tripod???? How its powered?? Batteries??? Is there a cable between the printer and the chrono?? Not much info on the website.

Battery powered, you have to use a tripod, and there is two cables between the printer/screen and the unit itself, cables are about 12-13 feet long.

HTH, Erik
