Just heard on the news that the expanded background check bill has failed to get a majority in the Senate and has been defeated.

It's great news for now ;D But there going to keep trying for dam sure. I just see the liar in is press conference try to tell the people that they have been done wrong by there senators. As they have not done what the majority of the American people want.

The final tally was 54 votes for it, and 46 against it. It failed to get the 60 votes it needed to proceed. While it got 4 Republicans to vote for it, 50 out of 54 Democrats voted for it!!!! The Democrats as a whole haven't been our friends since the 1970's!!!!! (in case any new young voters out there don't know it)

Actually, it started with the Johnson "Gun Control Act or 1968".

Prior to that neither side had any problems with gun ownership.

There is a caveat to its failure that is being overlooked. Because Harry Reid voted no, it is now his right as majority leader, to bring that particular ammendment to the floor again if he feels he can get enough votes to pass it! Had he voted yes it still would have failed but the ammendment can't be reintroduced. These idiots always seem to game the system.
