Background Checks Act 2021 goes to Senate

I interpreted it as this new law. If you obey it, it leads to registration, registration leads to confiscation. You “do the right thing” and start following the new laws, you’re low hanging fruit for the government to easily take action against you.
Why doesn’t current background check law lead to registration?

oh yeah, but a gun shop won’t let you purchase one without it. If two parties don’t agree on the transaction rules then the transaction won’t happen. So, yeah you got me, I have purchased stuff from my favorite LGS, and used NICS. I prefer private transactions though.

Because theoretically, that paper work doesn’t go anywhere. It just sits at the gun shop and in 20 years they are allowed to dispose of it. The gun isn’t tied to you, unless some 3 letter agency goes and gets the paperwork from that specific gun shop.

Why would the proposed expansion of current law change that?

Toby,
Sadly there are no studies in JAMA or the Journal of Infectious Diseases or any study that I could find that
substantiates seroprevalance in anything remotely close to the numbers you claim.

I freely admit I do not know what is true, I just know the unsubstantiated shite is that is quoted by media is not helpful. Science is based on demonstrated repeatable outcomes that is independently verifiable. Kinda like Benchrest! But not math...math is racist!

My state requires a background check on all sales. I would never risk a private sale without a background check, way too much legal and financial exposure. The outcome of selling to an undercover ATF agent, felon, or other flagged person is not appealing to me, I’ll let you and the others do that.

And that does happen. I was in a small, local LGS doing a transfer a couple months back and the owner was digging through files per an ATF request. I believe they gave him 24 hours to produce the paperwork.

The enemy has been under estimated in it's capability ,dedication, and resources !The conservatives are either unwilling or to damned lazy to meet this threat with equal or greater force.Right now what is keeping the communist take over at a slow pace is that this nation as a whole is rich.Should there be a monetary crisis that pace will quicken to the rate that happened in Germany,Vietnam,North Korea,Russia ,Cambodia,China and others.

I have written both of my US Senators on this issue asking them to vote against both house bills. Have you?

What do you mean?
I mean that if all of your firearms purchases are done through a licensed FFL holder and you comply with all the background checks, your name is in the system as a "frequent" firearms purchaser. A private sale through a known seller bypasses your name being injected into the system numerous times. I don't have a problem buying a gun from an individual and keeping my name out of the system. Maybe I didn't word my post correctly, but this is what I meant.

what state? The ATF can be used to enforce state laws? It’s legal in Georgia to do private transfers.

Probably not a good example. How about state officials or other law enforcement officers? Of course you stated you would not follow the law whether it was a state or Federal law so the ATF agent example would apply to you.
