Received mine last night, last summer’s estimated delivery was 12/17 so about two weeks off, not bad considering. Took about 30 minutes to set up, including calibration. Had one question after set up and emailed Adam and got a response and solution in two minutes. This is a sweet rig. So much better than what I’ve been using!

There are essentially 2 types of electronic balances used by handloaders: strain guage and magnetic force restoration (MFR). All the cheap (and not so cheap) electronic balances are of the strain guage variety. The A&D FX-120 is an MFR type. I believe it's the least expensive of such types, even with its price tag.

The MFR types are not subject to drifting like the strain types because of their design. However, that said, the FX-120 is extremely sensitive and it will be affected by the slightest air current, evil thought, sneeze, and even dirty looks. The V4 allows you to close 3 of the 4 sides to cut down on air currents. It's also a good idea to have clean power and yes, banish those wicked fluorescent lights to the nearest dumpster. My FX-120 is not affected by nearby smartphones, Wi-Fi repeaters, and Bluetooth devices.
My V3 started under-throwing by .4 grains when I ordered the V4. I explained to the scale that it was the trickler and not the scale I was replacing, and it started working again. It's very very sensitive.

I have all three sides of my V3 covered, a power cleaner and a lab quality granite block on an anti-static mat, also no direct airflow or non-led lights. Scale is pretty stable. I did have to stop using two cups because my reloading area is pretty compact and if I moved too quickly, I was creating an air current when one cup was in the scale and I was charging with the other. Wasnt a huge amount, but slowing down (which is still fast) also helped.

Latest update...
Units pushed out again, late Dec. early Jan. shipments now won't ship until late Jan. early Feb.

I still see the old schedule. Did you hear from Adam. Damn. I was so close. I’m March 18th so clearly fell in January.

Received my V4 yesterday. Ordered on March 13th.

De-installed my V3 this morning. Set up the V4. Simple and straightforward.

Man, oh man! I really liked my V3. The V4, though, wow... it just takes it to another level. It's truly magical how you can jump from ten grains in something like a .22 Hornet... to fifty or more in a .30-06... in the blink of an eye. No more having to decide whether to just put powder in the AutoTrickler in small capacity cartridges - meaning that each charge is going to take awhile - or else fiddle with the measure setting on the AutoThrow.

After calibrating a quantity of IMR-4198 (flow rates ended up being 14.3 GN/s in the large tube; 0.13 GN/s in the small tube; and a transition weight of 2.19 GN... using the default slider setting of '5'), thrown charges were spectacularly fast and accurate.

The other big improvement was getting remaining powder out of the thing when you're done with a session. Very well thought out.

The only two things I can think to improve on V4 would be the ability to save calibration settings for multiple powders in the app; and a longer electric cable so you wouldn't have to undo the connector when dumping powder.

Anyone on the fence... the V4 AutoTrickler is simply remarkable.

Why are you dumping out powder?

Why are you dumping out powder?

Well, because I load for a lot of different cartridges and use lots of different powders.

And because smokeless powder is hygroscopic in varying degrees (depending upon its size, shape, and the coatings used) and so I assume is more likely to absorb moisture if left for long periods of time in a powder hopper... as opposed to the plastic bottle it comes in. A year ago I also began tracking dew point during the time I have powder outside those factory canisters, wondering if I could see any correlation with performance. It'll probably be awhile before I have enough data to tell if I can or can't.

But it's designed so you don't have to pick it up and dump powder. Even the V2 and V3 was that way

You can clear the powder throw on the V3 without picking it up. But you certainly have to pick up the AutoTrickler itself to clear all powder out of it.

The V4 is a unibody design, with the AutoTrickler and the AutoThrow combined into one unit. You could clear most of the powder without lifting it, but I'm doubtful you'd ever get all of it. The manual speaks to disconnecting the cable, lifting and shaking the unit. It's certainly not hard. But the electric cable on the V4 is very short, ergo the need to disconnect it. If it were longer - say the length of the cables on the V3 - you wouldn't have to do that.

Where did this info come from?
Thanks for reaching out - happy to help! We're still a little bit away from having your V4 in our warehouse. My best guess for ETA for your unit is end of January/early February - here are all the details:

We were given ship dates from AutoTrickler a little earlier this year. Needless to say, V4 started production in September, and AutoTrickler is a few weeks behind on their production schedule. They are waiting on some parts that have been delayed, unfortunately. Once those parts come in, the ball should get rolling a little faster.

We're somewhat at the mercy of their production, we can only work with the number of units they send us. They have been updating their schedule as they go on their website - I've included the link below. You'll notice they've only partly made their way through the March 16 reservation shipment date. Here is a link, the schedule is on the bottom right hand side: AutoTrickler V4 – MacDonald Online Store

I have noticed that you have already paid in full. Once your V4 is in our warehouse, I will send you an email to let you know it is being shipped.

I hope this helps! I promise we're trying our best over here to get everyone their order in their priority sequence and in a timely manner. If there is anything else we can assist with, or if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. We appreciate your business!

Ah that’s from CE and not from adam directly. Got my V3 from them. They are great. My V4 is coming directly from adam.

I have been hesitant to ask cause no one seems to be having any hiccups, and this is my first time with any of the Autotrickler devices so it definitely could be the nut behind the wheel, but…has anyone had a hard time with getting under the 0.2 GN/s on the small tube with H4831sc without adding lots of tilt?

I have confirmed all settings on the A&D from the autotrickler manual 3 times. The scale is level. I have calibrated 9 times with an avg of .24 GN/s, non of them going under .2 GN/s. So, per the manual I started raising the front two wings up that set on the pads. The manual references .01 - .02 so I started with that, no dice… right now I have a penny under each pad and I am at .15 GN/s. So it took around .050 -.053 (depending on year of penny) to make it happen.

This would put me needing a 3/16 rubber pad which I can get, and that is fine with me if that’s what it needs. Just wondering if I am overlooking something that would make it meet the .01-.02 GN/s spec without changing the rubber pad. Thanks in advance.

Received mine last week after ordering in May 2021. Haven't opened it yet though as I couldn't be knackered packing my V3 up!

I just ordered a V4 through Adam's website and a separate fx120i from CE.

Do I need to order the Bluetooth module too?

The balance should be delivered tomorrow.

CE ships to California now.
