I have a little bad taste in my mouth over Arken. Not really going to go into details over it but I have been interested in their midas btr I think and the Midas tac. What is the differences between those scopes ? How is the glass quality ? And how is their customer service from experience ? Thanks

I have a midas btr gen 2. 4.5-27x50. I think tac has capped windage and no illumination. Think thats the main difference

My glass is good. Its better than the 4-24x50 trijicon tenmile i had, and better than my zeiss v4 6-24. Its just a tad bit less than my sightron siii 8-32x56, but i think that 56mm helps some especially in lower light.

Its tracked well for me. Overall great bang for buck im considering another maybe the ares series

i have an ares btr gen1, glass is pretty good
just mounted a midas tac, have not had time to get out and shoot it yet, but seems good for the money

I have two Athlon scopes. One is a low end (Neos, I think) for my 22 rifle and the other is a Midas 2.5-15. An HMR, I think. Nice scope. 30 mm tube. Illuminated reticle that works good in low light. I don’t believe that I can say what it’s better than or worse than. Just a nice scope that does what I need.

I had the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Cronus scopes. Glass was really good for the price. Tracked well too. I just thought the eye box was a little tight. Otherwise great bang for the buck

I had a Midas BTR Gen1 4.5-27x50 I just sold. Good glass, good reticles, always held zero, and good tracking so can’t go wrong. If you shop around and wait for a sale, you can usually get a sizeable discount on Athlon scopes.

The Chronos is made in Japan by Low--same as many other nice scopes--the rest of the line is China made but many are great per what I have been told
LOW makes a lot of the best stuff out there

I have 4 Athlon scopes as well, but none of them are from the Midas family. They include a Gen1 6-20x50 Argos BTR, a Gen 1 Ares BTR 4.5-27x50, an Ares ETR 4.5-29x56, and lastly a Gen 2 Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 that I haven't mounted yet. I like them a lot, but I probably wont' buy another ETR or a Cronus. I feel that the Ares BTR is close enough in performance that the ETR and Cronus are not worth the additional cost. The Gen 1 Ares BTR is on my 6.5 Grendel upper. I mainly use it for deer, but I also plink with it on our 500 yd range, and I took it on my first PD trip where I was able to connect on one at 700 yds with it. The Argos started off on a Savage Model 12FV in .223 that's currently my main PD rifle. It was on that first trip also, and it worked great out to 400 yds. The reticle is heavy enough that at full magnification, it blocked out too much of the pups past 400 yds. Otherwise it was fine. That rifle now has the Ares ETR on it. I picked up the Gen 2 Ares BTR to go on that rifle once I get my next rifle because I'll likely move the ETR to it. I was very close to buying a Midas scope to fill that need, but found the Gen2 Ares (used) on here for less so I bought it instead.

I'm about to find out what their customer service is like because on my last trip I managed to loose the battery cover on the ETR somewhere on the SD prairie.

Many years ago (1997), I purchased a lightly used Leupold VariX III 6-20x40 scope with target turrets to go on my (then new to me) Rem 700 Sendaro chambered in 25-06. That old scope still gets used as a loaner for myself or others in my group when we get a new rifle but haven't had a chance to buy the glass we want yet. In its day, it was a really nice scope. Even used, I gave just over $600 for it which was quite a bit of money at the time. It's shocking to see how much better the scopes are today, even at a fraction of the price.
