As a kid, what gun did you dream of owning?

Where do I start. Now in my 70's, I think that I have or did own all of my "dreaming of Jeanie" guns. My first gun that I bought with my money as a golf caddie was a Remington 870 DELUXE. I used to go into Marshal Fields department store, can you believe an upper end department store, would sell guns?? They had an 870 deluxe in 12 gauge.I would drool over the flying duck on the grip cap and the beautiful checkering. A neighbor knew a guy with an FFL so I paid $76.70 for it.
Now as an adult I have re purchased some of the guns I foolishly sold. Nylon 66, .22 Jet revolver, Remington 700 in .300 H & H.
Brings back a lot of pleasant memories!
Yeah, Department stores did sell firearms. those were great days. that 870 deluxe is beautiful. you are right about buying guns we sold 40 years ago or longer!

I used to go in mom and dads bedroom and just stare up at the gunrack above the bed. It had a mod.70, 1886 win, mod. 88 284, mod. 12 . Used to dream about em. I got into guns early. Got my first shotgun 870 20 guage at 8. Dad let me put one shell in it. Doug
good gun handling teaching.

Remington 222 40XBR in short walnut version. Saw it in a gunshop with a Unertle and remember it just like I remember seeing a girl for the first time...electrifying. I was 12.

Even wrote a magazine article about creating a clone from a 722...the "Techno-Retro Rifle" in Varmint Hunter Magazine

Have a Win 42 field version, first year production. Want a Double diamond deluxe skeet. Shot one once...amazing.

You had a good eye!

Alguapo, Ive got almost enough pieces to assemble a Thompson. Its mostly an M1, but to be a legal semi auto it needs a bolt without a fixed firing pin so, I am still looking. Ive got a bolt but there are better options if I can find one.

…..and now that you’re old enough to appreciate accurate guns, you know that mini 14 can’t hit the broad side of a barn! There’s one on the sale board if you don’t care. All stainless ! Your dream gun awaits!
That's why with all the shooting on that show no one ever died. Lol!

I didn’t as a kid. Later I wanted a 14.5x114 anti meteriel rifle. That idea was a bit impractical. Mausers are much more practical. I found bargains on a two different G.33/40 sporters. They were built in 1966 and 1972. Purists can relax. Maybe.

Remington 870 Special Field 12ga. My first memory of an English stock was an 1100 and 870 Special Field in a full page ad in one of my grandpa's dealer books. That little 870 was so sweet.
Bought a special field 12ga back in 2016.
We buried my best friend and shooting buddy august 5th 2016.
scheduled to meet with the guy that afternoon after the funeral to pick it up.
Barry would have approved of the transaction.
Shot it a few times before I realized I liked semi auto shotguns.
I miss Barry but not the 870.
