ARS Mausingfield for a do all rifle????

The Mausingfield has caught my eye. I want to shoot FTR, varmint silhouette, varmints, maybe a PRS shoot.

Do any of y'all have one? I know a couple guys that have one that shoot PRS and they say they won't compete with anything else now. I wonder how it would be shooting in the single shot disaplines. I know it's a bit more than the other actions, but I have a pile of compatible barrels from my Savage actions.

Do y'all see any advantages or disadvantages of going this route?

Thanks!

They look like really nice actions and I know the PRS shooters are loving them. The only thing I dislike on them is the bolt handle and that's a pretty minor complaint.

I am not sure how well they would work as a single round feed though, unless you used the magazine (i.e., don't glue in a follower or something) - they have a controlled round feed, IIRC, and when I used to have CRF action it never fed single rounds very well, unless fed from a magazine.

The single feed I think what I'm worried about most. I thought about making a Delrin single feed follower for it if I get one. I have a Delrin one that fits in aics mag wells that I use on my Savage's. I just don't want it tearing up brass single shooting it.

Well I'm on the list for one. Ted says with the magazine or a single shot block in it, it will feed just fine . I can't wait to get it, hopefully by the end of the year. There tooling up for lefties and long actions right now.

I have the action ordered, a Manner T4A, just need a trigger now. Looks like the Manners is now the long lead time component. Hoping I can make weight with the T4A and the 30" 1" straight contour barrel for FTR. I may have to shave some weight off my bipod.

I don't understand why a guy would want one, it's an engineering solution to none problems that incorporates design features that have gone the way of the dodo for a reason! It makes no sense to me to make an action more complicated with more moving parts and geometry.

I grew up with a Mauser 98 in 6.5 swede and hunted a ton with it. Always loved the reliability and positive feed.

Having the Springfield ejector is nice as you can rack the bolt back quick and fling your brass or slow and leave it the receiver or barely drop it.

I really do not see any more additional moving parts over a 700 clone.

Almost all the other custom actions are just another 700 copy with finer tolerances.

I have a pile of small shank Savage size barrels that I can use also, so I'm not having to buy more barrels and chamber them.

So you think it's all for nothing, what do you shoot?
