Are you ready for the dog towns??

I shot about 135-150 today. The town had a ton of pups and has seen very little shooting. Plus my guns were very quite for some reason.. lol.. Oh I had a few kills at over 200 with 234 being the furthest with a 17 HMR RimX action rifle with a Lothar Walther barrel. I had three doubles.

I'm dragging out 2,300 rounds of .223/53gr V-Max and an additional 950 rounds of Hornady 40gr v-Max for my .204 Ruger. I will spread this out between 3 - AR's (.223) I built and 1 - .204 Ruger all with 26" B. Barrels.

And they give me hell about bringing 5-7 rifles, lol, I like your style;-).
Set up about like mine, out of sight is good.
FYI I have an old chicken hook to drag stuff to the back if I can’t reach it.

A friend of mine used to PD before his passing. The loading became such an undertaking he settled on 22-250, 55gr Sierra BK, Varget, win. Brass and FedGM primers. All loaded for 4 identical Rem 700 Varmint rigs topped with 4 identical Burris Black diamond scopes.

Over the years he used to take a huge selection of calibers and firearms but learned he had just as much fun if not more sticking with one load and 4 rifles set up identical to each other.

My pard has a heavy foot no doubt. Great driver but there is no sleeping at that velocity for passenger (me). He drove the entire trip. 25 hours overnight stay about 1/2 way. First ranch we checked out today has plague. This place was sooo good last year. Plague has been in the area so might be a short trip this year.

Equipment failure. I’ve had these for many years and the push button for the laser range finder just deteriorated while I went to use them. Called Swarovski and they said it was not an item I could repair myself. So I’m out doggin with no range finder. I have to mail them back to RI and they will ship them back to Austria. 6-8 weeks. If you own these probably want to check them over B4 hunting.

I ordered a couple extra boxes of 22 wmr yesterday and will pick up a big sun hat today. I zeroed and chrony verified all my rifles last Saturday in what turned out to be a monsoon but managed to verify my chrony data and adjusted all my Strelock dope.
My buddy has all his stuff ready and bought a small grill so we can have snacks in the field. I also called the guide yesterday, he said they are shooting at a lot of dogs but that it’s really windy. Good luck to all. E

I have a Sig rangefinder that is display is disappearing. I can't even read the numbers on it. Time for a new one.

Just finished loading the last of my ammo for our upcoming P dog trip to S Dakota. This will be our first trip and we are very much looking forward to it. So far a total of 1350 centerfire rounds and a 100+/- 22wmr rounds.
I’ve never loaded this much ammo before and have learned a ton. It’s been quite the undertaking in the 3 months since booking the trip. The 52gn 223 and 100gn 260 loads were the only ones that were already developed, the rest were worked up during the weekends and a few sick days from work. The Grendel load could use some more tweaking but ran out of time, a little over MOA but will have to do.
My buddy was pretty much in the same boat but not as experienced at developing a load( not that I’m all that great at it) but still managed to put together a 22-250 ai and hash out a respectable load. Anyway that’s our story, what have y’all been working on for the dog towns?? E
