ARA Factory getting Tougher

You hear a lot rumors at the events. One guy was saying the CZ uses a "coating" inside the barrel
to improve performance however this so called coating wears off after 2,000 rounds with no way
to retreat it. BS?
I have two new MTR’s from the same batch, one with about 800 rounds through it and the other unfired. Once I get some more rounds down the one I’ll check with my borescope, but I don’t believe that. My buddy is kicking arse and taking names in ABRA Outlaw Factory with an MTR that has at least 10k rounds through it, probably over 20k rounds.

No such thing as “ interior barrel performance coating”.

I can see how some would think the target in Factory is too easy but..
No matter what you do-- practice, cunning, determination will keep progress going forward no matter what.
I am reminded of when NHRA dropped back from quarter mile to shorter when Scott Kalitta got killed--Going way too fast they said cut the track length and stop that --well here we are years later and the record now Far exceeds what they used to do on a longer track--
I think on any given day--even the best or hottest shooter can have a bad day --I think the dedicated --determined shooters that really put in the time and pay the dues are the ones that rise to the top. I think what has happened is that the fun shooter or person that just shoots a few local matches will not be able to hang with the guys and gals that are POURING ammo into practice --the shooters that have decided that they are going to win and keep at it day and night to do so.
As far as gaming the system--I don't have an opinion. I know some that have bought as many as five rifles and picked the best barrel and sell the rest--is that gaming? Maybe--I am sure some have tested many more than that. Or..have kept a few so if the ammo does not shoot in one it may very well shoot in a different one??
I am very observant and I can't say I have seen a cheater yet--I have seen some little things that might raise an eyebrow but how is it worth it to speak up?--There is No $$--Any glory fades as soon as the parking lot empties--by the next match or two anything like that has faded away and another different guy is suddenly hot --we all assume he has hit on some great ammo --and we wait--he may win a few but then will drop back with the rest of us when he runs out of it.
The guys I watch that win on a regular basis --have one thing in common--they TEST all the time--they Test a LOT--they shoot a ton of targets between matches--thus they know what they have when they show up and then....the temp swings from early start into the afternoon and they struggle a little like we all do .
My goal is to shoot better and improve--to keep learning--to share with others what I can--but mostly to try and enjoy the challenge and have some fun
Oh yea I REALLY want to win!!

Well said Dave. I'm a fun shooter, I compete against myself. Once in awhile I have a good day and still can end up in the middle of the pack.
Folks I have seen this man in the prairie dog patch and trust me—he ain’t no “middle of the pack” shooter!!
Middle of the bulls eye more like it.

Fun and the wonderful fellowship is the true win for sure

Thanks Dave. Your dang good yourself.
But really in ARA Mark leads the way and i follow. When he started shooting ARA he would tell me about it. I'm thinking yeah that's good. Finally I went and shot a match and it's definitely a lot of fun, plus a bunch of really good folks on the line with you at the different clubs. Sometimes I feel im neglecting my centerfires.
