Anyone using the new Winchester Stabal 6.5???

Just wondering if anyone has tried or is using the new Winchester StaBal 6.5 powder in a 6.5 or a 6MM creedmoor. Thanks guys!!

Following this, always like to try new powders. They have data available for the 6mm Dasher wonder about the BR? Would also like to know where it falls on the burn chart, is it closer to Varget or H4350?

Compared to a lot of other powders, I suppose you could say this new StaBall 6.5 powder is a success, but when it's compared to Hodgdon Extreme Powders, such as H4350, maybe not so much, but in all fairness, does anything compare, with regard to temp stability, to the Hodgdon Extreme powders, especially H4350?!

I think H4350 and H1000 are, the, best two powders for temp stability out there.

If this new StaBall 6.5 is predictable and consistent as temps go up/down and doesn't have wild swings like some of the other powders out there, and, can produce better velocity, I think it very well could be worth trying.

Looking more for people who have actually shot it in either the 6MM or 6.5 Creedmoors. Trying to find out how it compared to H4350 for accuracy and velocity. With some loading info..... Thanks Guys!!!

I bought 8lbs of it and the one 6creed ladder load I wasn’t impressed so far. My extreme spreads were worse than factory ammo (40-60fps) on the same brass prep thAt produces sub 15es on a ten shot string with h4350. I thought on this ladder I would at least tip toe into pressure signs at 43.7gr but I wasnt close, it got me 3000fps with a 105h at that charge weight. (I run a lighter load in this gun 41.9 with h105@3050, it has a lot left in it) I’ll try again next week. But it’s cold outside. So it might be the week after. Also, doing ladder loads on my autotrickler/autothrow were a nightmare, it’s so small it seeps out of the powder drop and makes a huge mess. But I did put it in my hornady powder drop on my progressive and hot damn, I had a es of .2gr over 25 drops, so for the very least if I can get it to shoot decent my 6.5 gasser is gonna get a lot more action lol

I think you will find the most temp stable powders are Ar Comp, r16, and R23 which are the Alliant TZ series and consistently test about 5 times better than the Extreme powders. The two you mentioned are the best of the Hodgdon powders for temp stability from the tests I've seen.

I tried some today in my 6mm Creedmoor. Started at 42.5, 43, 43.5 and 44grs. The 42.5 load was really slow, high 2800s with 108ELDs 43grs was in the low to mid 2900s and 43.5 got me to 3000fps range and 44grs put me at mid 3000fps range. I only did 3 shot groups. The lighter loads were so, so with large SD in the 20s and 30s. The 43.5 and the 44gr load both shot the best with the 44gr going .320 for 3 shots and the 43.5 load going into .480. The 44gr load had a speed of 3055 and a SD of 10.8 for 3 shots. I will try the 43.5 and the 44gr load again with more rounds next time...

Do you happen to remember where you saw those test? The ones I saw were with different powders (all marketed as temp sensitive) and none came close to Hodgdon...

Thanks. The comparison I saw was between RL 15 and H -4350. If I can find it, I will post....I got a big jug of RL 16 but have not had a chance to try it yet...
