Anyone using Peterson .284 Win Brass?

Dont quote me as I dont have it here in front of me
(at work)
I am recalling from memory and seem to remember about .015 for .314
But I think that was after a neck turn light skim cleanup pass
New brass thickness can vary .001 or more easily
So just wondering?
-------------------------------------------
Aren't you going to neck turn?
If so - I would plan your bushing based around that fact
I would neck turn all at either .014 or --------------
---.015 for a decent cleanup pass if you are wanting to turn the bare minimum

I run it in a 284 Shehane. I have a custom reamer which is a .321 neck, .5029 at the .200 line and a .188 freebore which works a charm with Berger 184gr hybrids. Loaded round measures .3165 and I run a .314 bushing but you might want to grab a .313 bushing as well. I don't neck turn either.

If your chamber is not machined for the Peterson Brass you will have issues with Clikers.
Its been documented here before.

Thanks, I was hoping their brass is consistent enough to not turn necks. I'm a lazy reloader.

Well, that sucks. I haven't cut the chamber yet but it's a SAAMI reamer with extended freebore. Lapua brass has been non-obtainium for years now and Peterson is the only game in town.

I've never used a small base die. I ordered the FL bushing die set yesterday- is there any reason I can't follow the small base die with the FL die rather than a neck sizing die?

.5029 at the .200 line
As Willow mentioned you will need .503 at the .200 line for sure. Peterson Brass is quite stout and that is a good thing but you need to prepare for it or your 2nd firing will be ugly ...at least in my case and my custom reamer has .501 at the .200 line - Cut for Lapua and it was not enough, at least in my case but YMMV.
I lucked out and had lots of Norma Brass to fall back on for a while and then abandoned the 284 Shehane
and went with the PRCW...No more brass issues.
