Anyone use BlC 2 powder in 223 55 gr loads

I'm looking to load some 55 gr. bullets and have both WSR primers and a bunch of 55 gr. bullets. Anyone have any experience with BLC-2? I see they generate velocity according to the loading manual and wondering how the accuracy is? Also I assume it's pretty temp sensitive, but I can live with that. If someone has some load data, I'd appreciate that.

I use 25 gr of BLC2 on my 223/5.56 and I have used this load with multiple primers. Not the hottest load but I don't sort 223/5.56 headstamps and I load on a Hornady LNL AP with the Hornady powder drop. Cycles in my AR like a champ and has plinking/typical AR accuracy. Being a tad bit slower gives me a margin of error when using different brass.

Many years ago I used it briefly in the 223 Rem with CCI magnum primers. It shot good enough but I moved away from ball powders years ago because I hunt all year around (varmints in the summer and predators in the winter) and experienced pressure surges in the summer with it.

I've found that "stick" powders such at H4895, IMR 4895, Varget, and / or Benchmark work best for me in my 223 Rems.

However I shot some of my best groups with another ball powder, H335. If I was to return to ball powders for the 223 Rem this would be my choice.

If someone has some load data, I'd appreciate that.

I normally try to match burn rate and case fill with my powder selection. I consider BLC-2 to be too slow a burn rate to perform well in 223. But I bought a used 223 from a guy, and asked him what load worked best for him. He said CFE 223 (nearly the same burn rate as BLC-2) and 40 gr bullets. I was skeptical to say the least, but I tried it. Shot tiny groups.

When I shot a 223 for varmints BLC2 was my go to. Excellent accuracy and speed.

I only shoot 20 cals and 6mm for varmint, but I’ve tried BLC-2 powder with many different bullets and charge weights in many different cartridges over the years. I have ALWAYS found great accuracy and speed with BLC-2. It’s one of those powders that gets overlooked a lot and people never know what they are missing until they try it. It’s definitely one of my ‘go-to’ powders for varmint rifles. I even found great accuracy and speed with BLC-2 in a 358 Norma Mag using 225gr Partitions!!!

Thanks, I'll try it. Only have 1 lb, but that goes pretty far in 223.

I used a pile of it when i started shooting p-dogs. i used military cases and a moderate load with good accuracy in a range of speeds. shoots well in 7 different 223 with 55 gr nosler ballistic tips. tried hornady v-max and nosler varmigedon's and lost accuracy.(trying to be cheaper)
