Merlin you are exactly right! That's why I don't shoot at 200 yds.I'm still trying to shoot a clean at 150,so far my best is a 196 and I think the golf gods blew a couple in for me.Tough game !
Anyone shooting 22RF to 200 yards?

At the "Extreme Rimfire Silhouette" match I was shooting there weren't very many windflags and due to the layout of the range it would have been impossible to have enough 
What I found is that when you miss one of the 188m rams you really have NO idea why you missed. If the impact was high or low you still have this nagging thought that there may have been a tiny tail wind or head wind.
This is assuming top self ammo. With "cheap" ammo you can be certain to lose points unless luck is with you, which DOES happen! I shot some SK Std Plus or Rifle match and when shooting the turkeys I told myself that I was doomed when I got to the rams. I did miss one turkey but knocked down all the rams. The impacts were everywhere. I would be holding at the butt and hit the snout. Hold on the snout and hit the stomach, etc. I don't think I had one center mass hit. All were a fraction of an inch from a miss.

All were a fraction of an inch from a miss.We have been shooting a 200 yd match here, texas panhandle, for about 3 years.I use a sightron 36x with a 30% booster set up in burris zee rings,+20 in front & -20 in back.If you will setup two targets at 100 yards, set one above the other 19.5 in center to center .aim at the lower target, ajust till you hit the upper target, this should get you on paper at 200. We like to hang clay pigeons (the day-glow orange ones) in sagebrush or juniper branches at ranges from 150 to 300 yards or beyond. If you use a 223 etc., however, sometimes you will hole them rather than bust 'em, or sometimes the center disk will pop out. With a good spotting scope you can see clean .223 sized holes in the bird. If you hit the thicker part of the rim they always shatter.

My main interest is .22 BPCR Silhouette (shrunk-down version of Black Powder silhouette), targets are 50, 100, 150, and 200 meters. I'm now shooting Lapua Center X. I've used Wolf and SK previously and found they both work well, BUT you must weigh-sort them to get rid of flyers.The Lapua is remarkably consistent round to round, no need to weight sort.
The rifle I shoot most often is a Ballard with 28" Douglas, 1-14 twist, with Winchester 52D chamber.

We did some 200 yard shooting awhile back with a CZ 452 and wolf ammo. We were using a Shepard scope. It worked really well shooting clay pigeons and then shooting what was left of them. The Shepard was calibrated using the subsonic ammo ,but when found the hold over the .22 was deadly accurate. Wind is going to be rough on the.22 at that distance. Hope this helps.....
Correction, the Shepard wasn't caliberated for subsonic but is for hyper velocity. Sorry for the typo error in previous post...
I changed out my MKII-FVT synthetic stock to the MKII-LR laminated stock Numrich had on hand, for my continued shooting at 200 yards this year once the weather gets a bit nicer. The rifle is wearing an EGW 20 MOA Scope Base with a 6-24x42 Tasco Target/Varmint Mil-Dot scope with A/O... It's accurate with the subsonic stuff (Eley Sport, Federal 711B, and Aguila Target).
I also shoot this rifle at 200 yards with the Williams Aperture Sights it came with. Did some shooting with it last year with the iron sights (when it was still in the synthetic stock), and it was pretty enjoyable getting away from the scope. It's not hard to reach 200 yards, and a person doesn't need to break the bank getting there. And it's FUN!

Chuckbuster, I see you are in Columbus, Ga, at the Cherokee Gun Club, Gainesville, a large group of dedicated 22lr shooters have been holding matches out to 200m for 8-10 years.
I don't know who is running them now, but if you Google and call the club, they also have a web page, you can check the schedule there,
these guys re really into the game and have tried anything you can imagine. They love to have new shooter join them

I would like to go up to Cherokee and shoot that match sometime. I have several friends around that shoot 22's that would like to as well. Its just tough to find the time right now. Matt
Our club started shooting rimfire F class type matches at 200yds about a year and a half ago. It is a slowly growing disipline and a lot of fun.
We had members who wanted to know what it is like to shoot long range but did not want to or have the where with all to build and long range rifle with all the neccesities and then drive hours to the closest 1000 yd range. This seems to fill the bill with no more cost than a set of Zee rings or a 20 moa base. We use the NRA TQ4 target with orange center as we do not have pits and have to use spotting scopes to find our bullet holes. The orange center makes them much more visible.
