Don't need a full kit, just need a rod that is slightly less than 30mm to lap rings. Thx
I use wooden dowels for lapping scope rings. Use some care to find one straight enough. You can get an 8 foot long 1 1/8" dowel at your local Home Depot for around eleven bucks. That's 28.6mm in diameter.
Surely there is a 2 foot section somewhere along the length which you can use. Dope it up with valve grinding compound in various grits and you're good to go.
No ............ wooden tools have been used for centuries for this sort of work and still are. Lapping scope rings isn't rocket surgery. You're joking right?

Your ignorance is showing. It's a waste of time if the rings aren't lapped in alignment with each other. Might even make matters worse. No way on God's green earth would a wooden dowel be able to accomplish that task correctly

Instead of doing anything wouldn't it be be easier to check it first . Green is what I use . LarryWheeler sounds like it. Thx guys. Curious about the wooden dowel....
