Ok, found it, dmv.ca.gov says:
A Revived Salvage Vehicle is a vehicle previously reported to DMV as a total loss by the owner or insurance company, but has been rebuilt and restored to operational condition.

Had this on non-op for a few years. Didn't matter . Had to have it inspected for a VIN. which they put on.

Enjoyed the N.H.R.A. Pomona World Finals yesterday . Thrilled when Matt Hagan won the X/FC Title and it was a bit of a downer when Leah lost to Kalitta in the Top Fuel Final . Grew up a Die-hard Mopar guy in the sixties . Butch Leal , Sox & Martin .

Not for me. I wanted Kalitta to win the title. Now he could (not that he's ready to) retire with no regrets, Leah has decades to go if she so chooses. They spent a little too much camera and mic time with Tony Stewart to suit me.

I fell in love with the Big Block Chevy when I read the very first article exposing it in Hot Rod Magazine back in the early ‘60’s.
They dubbed it the “Porcupine Motor” due to the spayed valve arrangement with those valves sticking up in all directions rather than in a straight line.
But then, “Rat Motor” became the name of choice to differentiate it from the tried and true “Mouse Motor”.
True, the Hemi might have saved Drag Racing, but in the vast majority of the ET classes and Super classes, some version of the Big Block Chevy rules the roost.

I think " Jungle Jim" used the big Chevy for awhile.

You know what's neat is your having fun with it, and that's the point, and your still racing. How cool is that?
My dream obsolete motor of choice is a 327 with a 283 crank, Hilborn injection, Mondello round port heads, Sig Erson cam @ 220 Muncie and 5.57-5.86 gears. I can shut my eyes and imagine myself pulling/pushing the Hurst T handle before your foot touched the clutch. It's fun just thinking about it.

Thanks for the compliment. I've got a 511ci old iron block being built right now. Should be in the car by racing season. Should be around 625tq/725hp Not big hp by today's standards but quite a bit more than the 425hp back when new.

A profile view of this car would be awesome! An Allison V-12 is a huge chunk of aluminum. Plus, it has a mechanical supercharger. Bou coup HP from that with no modifications.
Took big stones to sit in front of that and push the loud pedal!
