I was NASCAR until the unibody era cars, can't tell them apart. Calibrated scales for several teams. Some good shine, would show up, snowflakes have probably changed it.
Have a link to the video or the name of the channel?I go to YouTube and find my brother and 240 Gordy Bonin racing a funny car. I also found him racing a duel engine dragster at Indianapolis in 1966. They earned a 'best engineered' trophy for a car designed and built in his garage, that was well before SEMA. Two Chev V8s back to front, crank shafts slightly rotated, so 16 cylinders. Like many other's they couldn't get the power to the ground for years. Steady improving and increasing the tire size, but the problem was the clutch. Now they use 6 clutch disks and probably a computer for engagement. They still run the "Bubble Up" funny car at the nostalgia races, it's still running in the 240s. Jerry died 33 years ago, he's in the Drag Racing Hall of fame and his name is still on the fender of the car. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"
No dog gone it !! I just put in NHRA drag racing during the 1970' early 80s. Jerry didn't drag race very much in the 80s, he was the crew chief on the 7-11 unlimited hydroplane. Jerry was the 1st one to put a canopy on hydro, it kept the driver in the seat in a "blow over". The driver had oxygen and an escape hatch in the bottom of the boat. Now all race boats have canopies. Jerry has saved a lot of lives. I think the making the brace between the sponsons movable into a wing or 'canard' was also his idea. The idea was to hold the nose down, to stop "blow overs".Have a link to the video or the name of the channel?

I Believe it has more to do with setup of the car. Also who can get away from bending the rules and not get caught. MattI guess it means the drivers are the difference?
We used to go to Memphis midsouth nationals nhra every year from '94 until they stopped hosting it in 2009. I saw all the greats and still have some autographed Tshirts that I break out on special occasions. Your daughter will love it. I can't thank my father enough for carrying me to those races back in the 90's .I am planning on going to an nhra event this year for the first time in about 15 years. Looking forward to it, my 10 year old daughter wants to come and is excited for it. I might video her reaction the first time she sees and hears a nitro car
Gasoline is for washing parts. Alcohol is for drinking. Nitromethane is for racing.only thing better is when they fire them up in the pits and wack the throttle. that is if you can handle your eyes and nose burning.
And what do you mix with Nitro?Gasoline is for washing parts. Alcohol is for drinking. Nitromethane is for racing.
You mix Methanol with Nitromethane to get the percent of Nitro you want, usually around 90% Nitro. I was on the crew of a Top Fuel Dragster (called AA/Fuel back then) from 1969 to 1972. It was a Don Garlits Top Fuel chassis prior to my friend buying it from Don. My friend updated the chassis mainly by lengthening it.And what do you mix with Nitro?
