Anyone know anything about PCP Air Rifles

Lets call it a healthy disrespect. I just know if n when one goes it will not be like uh oh we better stand back. Its gonna be blinking bleeding ringing ears WT HECK was that!?!? Kinda sudden. I fill my own.
Guy at the scuba shop brought them back hot, twice. I know he slammed them. Dont trust anything you dont see with your own eyes.

Lot of water under the bridge since this video. 50 yards 22 cal jsb mac 1 hunter #54, one inch squares. Please enjoy.
Yeah I’m starting to think waking up dead is a bad thing!

My tank has a plastic mesh cover that never comes off. Some people have a carry handle and strap. Anything to make the handling easier reduces damage and chance of an accident.

The carbon fiber wrap is where the strength comes from, and blunt impacts will weaken the fibers. But they are visible since they use clear resin.

IMHO the primers and powder we all buy and store are on the whole more risky to us, but it’s 90% mental. We’re used to having them around.

Ive always been a little nervous around my tank but I know there is little reason. If you open the valve it will scream and rapidly bleed air but it won’t go boom.

I like the scuba shop because the owner appreciates good equipment and he has a hell of a good air compressor setup. I will never make drier, cleaner air myself. Keeping the air in my PCPs clean is very important.

I’m settling in on the FX Impact in .25 cal with 700mm barrel...shooting the bugs at 50 was pretty awesome....I want to shoot the fleas off of the bugs!

I have bought a few, no FX so far but they are on the desireable list. So much fun. So little time.
Heres my 25s, Air Ranger, BSA Loneststar (LOUD!) Edgun Matador.
My 2 Edgun bullpups are the faves then Daystate 22 then Daystate 177. Mac1 hunter split pellets on utility knife. AA S400 longest Starling shot at 95 yds.

Jumped in the deep end! I went with a “Used” LNIB Latest model synthetic stock FX Crown in 0.25 caliber STX, also came with an extra .30 cal 700 barrel Assy. with DonnyFL, and an arrow launching barrel W/arrows (Fun bonus). Hatsan compressor as well.

thanks to everyone for your guidance....all very helpful. Now I need some pellets and slugs! ;)

Ha! I'd say you jumped into the deep end! Great choice on the Crown. Post up some groups when you get it dialed in. You should be able to put them in one ragged hole at 50yds. I find my rifle to have about one flier out of a magazine of 10, likely a damaged skirt since I don't sort of size pellets.

Do you know what .25 and .30 cal pellets work best? What about slugs? I was looking to get a slug liner. Thanks, Ryan!!

I am not the guy to give much advice on that, especially .25 and .30 cal as I only have a .22. Check out airgunnation or GTA and they probably have some specific choices. I will say that like powder burners, some pellets work better than others. Between weight and skirt diameter there are some pellets your gun will like and others it will not.

Regarding slugs, I have heard that the FX hybrid slugs will work in your regular STX barrel. They are pricey, though. I haven't tried them personally. Other than those I think your only other choice are the Nielsons, which I believer require the liner. I am curious about your slug endeavors; post back what you find out.

For .30 cal, I have some 45s and 50s. I started testing slugs and the first one I tried was not a happy match.

If you want samples of .30 cal pellets I can probably help out, but it's not crazy to just buy some full tins since you have an air source.

Like anything else, you just try pellets and see what makes it happy. I've always found my best results somewhere in the JSB line. I really only test other brands for my amusement and FOMO.

If you send it to a tuner, send some of the pellets that you'd like it to perform best with and they will develop the tune around it. I sent 45s and 50s to Allen Z and it turned out he found a better tune with the 45s around 75 ft-lb.
