Anybody own a Rossi lever gun?

I have 2 Henry's one brass one steel both in 45 colt. Both carbines with the big loop lever. The brass one is a bit on the heavy side. With the heavy octagon barrel. The Big Boy steel is my close range deer rifle. They both will put 300g XTPs in 2 inch circle at 100 if my eyes are focusing good. The newer models are available with the side load gate into the tube magazine. I would think that would be handy for unloading instead of running them all through the action. The actions are on the short side. 255 g factory loads are about max length to run. In the actions. I reload the 300g Xtps. They are the ones that have 2 crimp rings and I have to use the front one to get them to work

I have a Rossi 22LR, it’s good for what it is, I upgraded the sights with a Ranger Point rear sight, both windage and elevation adjustable and the front sight is a tall pioneer gun works one. It shoots good but I’ve handled the Henry model and it feels much better though more heavy.

My experience is they are solid rigs. My experience is with a recent model stainless .44 mag made by CBC. With the right load, it can cut holes at 50 yards. Wood to metal finish is decent. It shoots cast as well as jacketed bullets well. It does all I ask of it.

For those that think JM Marlins are where it's at, that's a fallacy. I've seen them with poor fit and finish and factory barrels that look like the surface of the moon.

I’ve been looking at some Rossi lever guns. Internet reviews range from “rough” to “great”.
Looking for hands on experience.

Had a Rossi 1892 16" in .44mag, about 15yrs ago. Relatively light, easy to handle. I found it a little cranky on ejection, but I ultimately didn't shoot it enough nor keep it long enough to know whether it would have smoothed-out after several hundred rounds. No idea if their current models have ironed out those little wrinkles.

They've got a R92 16" .44mag in all-weather black that might do for a "truck" gun that's expected to experience rougher use.

I have owned a Rossi 92 in .357 magnum for about 5 years now. So far I have had zero problems with it. It eats .38 special and .357 hand loads with all types of bullets without a hiccup. The trigger right out of the box is exceptional and accuracy to 50 yards with iron sights is very good. I plan to add a Marbles tang sight to it very soon. The wood and bluing is good for a cheap gun. Nothing spectacular. Overall, I am very impressed with this rifle.

Oh please, you've posted that garbage twice now. A Rossi 92 with some work done is a rifle every bit as pleasant to shoot and carry as any other.
John Browning designed it, like all the best lever actions.
I bet you also think a factory Savage rifle with some work is just as good as a full custom rifle. They are all bolt actions right? Lol
