Wouldn't be far for us to go... That would be nice , I drive about 78 miles round-trip to go shoot...Bastrop county?? theres a big parcel for sale right down the road right on 21
2 miles for me, and nothing behind it but state land,,Wouldn't be far for us to go... That would be nice , I drive about 78 miles round-trip to go shoot...
That's a thought. Couple of drawbacks. Y'all have fire ants. Too close to Beto land and the liberal republic of Austin. I'm thinking somewhere between Ft Worth and Abilene, out on the plains where the wind blows. It wouldn't be a cupcake to shoot.2 miles for me, and nothing behind it but state land,,
fire ants everywhere, Austin people afraid of us, and just what is a Beto,,only thing we have to worry about is everything burning up,,That's a thought. Couple of drawbacks. Y'all have fire ants. The only place I have ever lived that can literally be on fire and flooding at the same time...fire ants everywhere, Austin people afraid of us, and just what is a Beto,,only thing we have to worry about is everything burning up,,
A friend and I play the lottery each week. We have decided to share with each other, but the main thing we want to do if we win is straighten out Africa. It is a shame that there are still people in this world that need help and few give a shit.
It’s been decided we would pay the other an annual amount of 100,000. The rest will be divided amongst investing and drilling wells/teaching agriculture/ basic education on the Dark Continent.
Of course, the odds of winning are slim.
I like the way you think. But, you're kinda calling the kettle black aren't you?a larger donation to keep this site or others like it in operation.
The odds of accomplishing anything that will endure in Africa are also slim. You will join the legions of governments, do gooders, religious entities and other NGOs that have thrown money at a culture that has existed for tens of thousands of years, still exists and has little to no desire nor inclination to change. Drill a well? Sounds noble but what happens when it breaks? Preventative maintenance is a phrase that doesn't exist in their vocabulary. When the pump breaks, it's scrap metal sold for peanuts in some big city and the village is back getting water out of a river. Bill Gates and others of the Guilty Rich are repeating past mistakes and are throwing millions at Africa where a large percentage of that money finds its way in to the Hong Kong bank accounts of their so called leaders. If you think this is BS, read what happened in Zimbabwe when white owned farms were taken and turned over to the locals. The houses and outbuildings were stripped of anything that could be sold, machinery scrapped and sold, the land went fallow and back to nature. Hundreds of years of missionaries setting up schools and teaching children who will never have an opportunity for any job other than rapping livestock on the ass with a stick.
More perspective from a hunter that's BTDT:
"Another is the fundraising for starving people. I was at a farming/irrigation project in Zimbabwe that was successfully supplying corn to the remote village of Chakwalla Kwalla (sp?) for many years. Then it was abandoned in 1974 and left to ruin because of US corn donations. So now rather than farm that land 12 months out of the year, the village men spend most of their time making homemade beer, and babies. And that 4'x4'x4' pallet of condoms delivered with Obama 's picture on the side? Yes, the women are using them to tie their hair...."
Like the guy in the Liberty Mutual insurance TV ad. You might as well throw your wallet in the river.
