Any Rem. XP-100 Collectors Out There ?

I was wondering if there are any serious XP-100 collectors that visit this site. A few years ago a deceased friend (nmhunter) talked me into buying my first but warned me,"They are like Potato Chips, you can't just have one"! Little did I know how right he was.

I was honored to be able to buy one of Tom's XP's after he passed away, a 6.5-284 that was built by Apache Machine . Plan on heading to Alaska in a couple weeks with it in hopes of a black bear and Wolf.
I own several XP's and it's a very addictive collection to get into.

I had an all original in 222 and later an upgraded model in 223. Fun, but when the prices started shooting up on them, I sold them both.

When an original XP 100 in .221 Fireball rings steel out to and past 400 yards, it's hard to wipe that smile off your face.
And when it OUTSHOOTS a rifle? Need I say more.

I've only got one, but I look at every ad advertising one. One day I'll pick up another one.
I've killed 5 cow elk, 1 mule deer buck, 1 whitetail buck, and 4 mule deer does with mine. 7BR.

Everyone talks about the great deals they find at pawn shops. But, I never have that luck, and I waste a lot of time looking.


That being said, I did make one good find in all these years of looking.

A factory original xp in 6br circa 1991
It came with a Burris. 100rds of ammo. And a hard case.

Not exactly my thing, but pretty cool nonetheless.

the top 2 are deweys. The bottom (rear grip) has a Canjar LP 700 trigger with a custom trigger shoe.

I've got most of the parts from a 221fb that I converted to a rifle and have no plans of converting back, if anyone is interested. It's been several years but most of the stuff is there. I knw the recoil lug is missing but that's all I can think of not being there...but I'm getting old, so...

Had a bunch over the years, IHMSA died around here but some got repurposed to compete at the newly started 1000 yard steel plate matches. Sold the centerfire triggers when I converted all to rear grip. Wish I had kept one centergrip trigger assembly. Oh well.

Great guns but now I mostly use Savage undesignated Target Actions.

Great thread you started Mike. Its good to see some of the old names posting.

I won't say I'm a collector but I do have 4 centergrips. For my rear grip I used a 700 single shot action, Brux barrel, Jewell trigger in a McMillan stock.
