Any New Projects This Winter?

Well, Santa brought me these:

So I'm sure I've certainly got something in the works.

Greg,
Those are beautiful. What calibers and stocks are you going to use? Who are you going to get to do the work?

I have an 8.5 BAT that should be here in a couple of weeks and 3 Broughton bbls that I can't wait to chamber. I ordered a red white and blue flame McMillan MBR,it is still two months out). It is going to be my new F-Class rig. When everything gets here, I'm going to send it all to Sid Goodling to do the work. I hope to be shooting it by the first of March.

Chuck,

I haven't decided on a gunsmith yet but these are going to be something special. As you can see, both are Grizzly II's with a high polish finish. One is a repeater and one is a single shot. Both have 308/BR boltfaces and both are RBLP. The repeater has an ejector while the single shot does not.

My intention is to build a matching pair of BR competition guns. The single will be a conventional LV gun in 6PPC while the repeater will be a 30BR built to meet Australian Hunter Class rules which are a bit different to the US version, importantly, no minimum case capacity hence the 30BR).

I'm living/working in the US but returning home to Australia at the end of '06 so it's a bit of a buying frenzy here in the land freedom at the moment. Fun times ahead!

The only thing I've got going is to chamber up my new Kreiger nine twist for this season. I'm putting all my faith in the BIB 95 grain flat base.

I just sent off my Borden TPE in trade for a Viper Drop port in a McMillan EDGE stock to Shooters Corner. I am also building a HBR gun in 30-47 in a McMillan stock with a 220 Swift AI switch barrel for doggin. PacNor on the 30-47 and Kreiger on the 220 AI. Cut rifling lasts longer than button, I am told.

Attached is a picture of my current project rifle: a 6PPC based on a BAT action. I'm also working on a real cool project rifle that will be featured here when its done. Can't talk about it yet, but trust me, it will turn heads.

Regards,
Kory

Kory,

Which BAT is that and are those the BAT rings that mount directly to the top of the receiver with no base?

Looks great!!

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

Its a BAT Model B, 1.470" round diameter with a flat bottom, right bolt, right port. It beds very well. Yes, you are correct on the ring/base combo. Its a single integrated piece, and the pair of rigns are machine together at the same time. They still should be lapped, but very little work is needed.

Happy New Year!

Kory
