Any new 2017 builds?

Hogpatrol you got something wrong in this photo....where is the required Unertl scope for shooting woodchucks in Pa.??????? Doesn't the Pa. Game Commission still ticket you for trying to hunt chucks without one???
That's only if you're shooting a chuck over 300 yards, on the second Tuesday of odd number months, in soybean fields, outside the special regulations area (SE PA), with the required blaze orange hat and using a rifle with a trigger pull not less than 1 lb. pull and a caliber no larger than .50. I think it's on page 438 of the PA hunting reg handbook.
In any even it's best to consult legal counsel before venturing afield in the state of Pennsylvania.

Oh, almost forgot NEVER ON SUNDAY!!!

Yes, it's a Whitley build. Very well made and accurate.

I decided to start shooting F/TR Class late last year and was told, by someone I know and trust, to check out Steve Jennings new rifle. The opportunity presented itself a little later that morning and I struck up a conversation with Steve about the rifle. At the time a new rifle was out of the picture and I had never had a custom rifle built. But, in the next half dozen weeks or so, I phoned and talked with Steve a few times, read all I could about his rifles, and talked with Mark Chesebro, who has built a few.

This is what I now have. It has a Barnard P action, a Bartlein 30" 10 twist barrel (308), the latest SJR Enterprises stock, and a Sightron 10-50x60mm scope. I believe the weight of the completed stock was 2 lbs 10 ozs. Mark did all the machining and assembly, and after weighing it, Steve machined a ballast piece to bring the package up close to the weight limit for the class.

I also purchased the rear bag that Steve offers and I am very happy with the whole package. Steve provides both the Allen wrench and box wrench to aid in setting up and adjusting everything for the rifle, and furnishes a few shims for the rear bag. He also sent me a proto-type platform for the bipod, along with suggestions as to how it could be improved.

Overall, I am very happy with this build. Steve has put so much effort into making everything perfect and the quality of all the components is superb. I only have enough rounds through it now to break in the barrel and need to do some load testing next time out, but it shows signs of shooting well already.

Edited to add: Both the cheek piece and the bag rider are adjustable via eccentrics. The receiver is not attached to the stock. The figure 8 clamp attaches the barrel assembly to the stock. The rifles track very well and Steve often states that he is back on target before the bullet hits, at 1000 yards.

Some year they'll be all done. I keep telling myself that I'm done buying or building new rifles, then Sid tells me about this action that Borden's building which accepts Bat tenon barrels so naturally I have to have one in drop port version. More cha ching. That's why this boy at an early age said to all his relatives that he wasn't ever getting married or having kids. Rather have my all my toys than kids any day of the week.

Built myself a 22RF trainer on a Stiller 2500XR/Krieger combination last year, so pretty much had to have a 722-style CMP 40X converted to a repeater so I could fit & chamber a Benchmark sendero contour bbl for it, then bed in a B&C #2095 stock. Got it CeraKoted in McMillan tan, mounted an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 scope, added a Jewell trigger, and it's great fun comparing the two at 200yds.

Since building those two 22RF bolt rifles, I decided I really needed a 22RF dedicated AR upper - CLE match grade bbl & conversion unit is supposed to be here tomorrow. I had one of Frank's CLE 22RF SR uppers back when I was still shooting leg matches, and it was excellent for offhand & slow prone practice. Sold it to a friend after legging out in 2001, and have been missing it ever since. Will be putting the parts into an Aero Precision slick-side flattop upper & floating handguard, RRA lower w/Magpul ACS stock, RRA 2-stage NM trigger. Will have a Weaver 99675 20 MOA riser rail, but not sure what scope I'll go with.

Still waiting on a Bighorn TL3-SA for a 6 Dasher tactical build. Have a TL2-LA/Bartlein hvy Palma/McMillan adj A5 in desert camo for a 6.5x55AI build. There's also a TL2-SA/Manners T4A in desert camo sitting here in the office - just haven't decided whether to use the parts for a rifle of my own, or advertise them for sale as a complete build in the customer's choice of chamberings.

6mm Norma Dasher, Manners tl4 elite, Shilen sendero taper, sss bolt, Savage comp action right bolt left eject. Pretty much one bug hole at 200 with 105 vld 31.1 grs of H4895 k1050 glass

LOL.....

I like the Bat tenon dealie, I wasn`t aware of that...........:rolleyes::rolleyes::D
Jim was talking about it at the winter meeting with Sid Goodling back on January 14th. Jim ran it by Sid what he was thinking of doing, he ordered 3 and Sid told me about it, called Borden he wasn't in. He called back and that's when I asked him if he would make a drop port, he said yes and the rest is history. I don't know if you know about the spacer that Jim sells. I have 2 Rimrock BR actions. He sells a .215" spacer ring that you can install so that you can use coned Panda tenon barrels in a Rimrock B, BR, BRM, & BRMXD action.

Not much of a "build" but I've got a couple of 20 caliber Savage barrels being rechambered to 20 TCM. Looking like I may not get them at least till the "spring thaw".;)

Where did you get the blank. That's is one of the nicest I've seen in a while. Who is doing the stock?

Nick
Nick. If you want to see some of the nicest wood gun blanks. Go to Old Tree Gun Blanks. Him and his dad have supplied wood stocks to the Weatherby's since the 40's. That's where I bought my screwbean mesquite blank. The blank wasn't cheap, ($2035.00) but it's rare and a real beauty. Terry Leonard never worked with that kind of wood before and he was excited to build the stock because most of his stocks are Redwood which is OK but there are a lot of them out there. He built me a pistachio stock built on a new Farley Black Widow that came out real nice. When I shipped him the blank, he said to me I hope you didn't pay a lot of money for this. I said why? He said because it's kind of plain. Well I said we could use it for a chock block if it doesn't come out too good. That was the long running joke about that stock. It took over a year to get finished because at one point he accidently put his hand into his table saw, (OUCH!). But towards the end he kept telling me that the more it gets finished the better it is looking. The end product wasn't all that bad looking for a $400.00 blank.

I got a couple blanks from Hearne's Hardwoods. They can fix you up with just about any wood in the world that's available.
