Anshutz 53.30 question

hardly, but you do need to read more carefully. I appreciate nothing that was implied, as it was plainly stated.
go read post 7 again the statement made was-
And it allowed Anschutz to say their new 54.30 has a chamber like a Bleiker.

Lee
Lee,

If you meant to suggest that I rephrase my post to "it allowed Anschutz to show shooters their new 54.30.....", then I think that's a good idea.

I think you could have phrased your suggestion less obstinately though.

Sorry Tim, but there is so much BS that new shooters have to wade through that when I see someone make a statement with no substantiated evidence that it is true well, I have to point it out for clarity.

Tim, the fact is a lot of forum readers know who you are and your shooting experience so how you phrase a statement can be taken as true just because of the source.

Lee

There is no guarantee of any kind that the Patterson Spec Rifles will be good shooting rifles.
? That is true and no rifle becomes great or legendary without the shooter to make it so.

John, perhaps your definition of good shooting is one that will win. my definition is one that can at least give you a possible chance at winning.

Lee,

How you point things out leaves much to be desired.

Anschutz's advertising emphasised the "new" chamber, a style used by only one other manufacturer (that's Bleiker by the way). The conclusions are obvious. Bleiker may not be on your radar, but are used around the world.

Of course, then Walther blindsided everyone with the KK500.

Tim you are from the uk would you like to tell us which are the most popular br rifles there. Anschutz has a following in the rfbr crowd here in the U.S.

If I may chip in here, It’s like asking a child what candy they like best when the bag contains many types and flavours.

Just a local Club shooter myself but I would hazard a guess it’s similar to here in Ireland and across the EU.

In my club, of the 20+ odd serious shooters (those who travel from club to club and across the EU) mainly use Anschutz, new and older models. In this group I’ve seen only two purpose built custom rifles, one G&E, two/three 1400’s, two 1600x, two Walthers, several 1800’s and some newer Anschutz rifles (1900, BR50’s).

Overall it seems chaps want an Anschutz, preferably older models if they shoot and those with a few bob will buy new.

Tim, you keep referring to Anschutz copying Bleiker yet you don't explain why. this is from 2015 an email on the new 54.30 to Nordic Marksman-

This past March at the IWA fair in Nuremberg, Germany, we debuted our newly designed Smallbore Match Rifle; the 54.30.

Today we would like to present to you some detailed information about this newly designed match rifle.

Our new Match 54.30 is a considerable evolution of the legendary ANSCHÜTZ Match 54 barreled action.

The new smallbore Match 54.30 action distinguishes itself by following items:

- Basis for the new rifle is the well known and reliable ANSCHÜTZ Match 54 action.
- The loading port was moved 30mm rewards and was reduced in size by 18%.
- These changes increases the stiffness of the receiver.
- The closer location of the loading port allows for less movement when in position and an overall improvment in shooter ergonomics.
- To accomodate the closer location of the loading port, the bolt and the firing pin were reduced in length by 30mm.
- The weight of the firing pin was also reduced, thus resulting in velocity increase of the firing pin and a shorter lock-time.
- The overall accuracy has been improved by a newly designed ANSCHÜTZ Match chamber.
- Unlike match actions in the past, the new Match 54.30 features a threaded receiver and barrel connection. This change removes stresses in the chamber area and further increases accuracy.

- The new Match 54.30 can be installed into all available stocks which fit with the ANSCHÜTZ round match actions such as the 1907 or 1913.
- Like other ANSCHÜTZ products, the Match 54.30 features a maintenance - friendly and long lasting overall construction.
- Very competitive pricing.

Additional details about the ANSCHÜTZ Match 54.30 are included in the enclosed attachement.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us through our website or dealer network.

Lee
Lee,

What actually is your point?

I can see you have highlighted an except about the new 54.3 chamber and barrel threading. Neither is new to the 54.30. Many European target rifles featured a pinned barrel, but not all. Bleiker have always threaded their barrels and receivers. Again with the chamber, who else used a two part chamber? Was it Walther? Was it FWB? Was it Diana? Oh, yes it was, Bleiker!

Anschutz redesigned the 19xx 54 to tackle complaints of inferior ergonomics and accuracy compared to other ISSF rifles. Walther were certainly in their mind, but Bleiker were foremost. Top ISSF shooters were switching to Bleiker from Walther too; Brodmeier, De Nicolo, Zublasing spring to mind.

Yes, the Walther KK300 bolt is shorter than a 1913, but the difference is 1/2in. The Bleiker is some 3in shorter. Bleiker placed a great emphasis on th3 accuracy of their Lilja barrels. These may not be the hottest thing on US BR circles anymore, but they weren't Bleiker's market anyway.

If you wish to accuse me of lying come out and say it, and let's stop beating around the bush.

Tim, perhaps you are misunderstanding my point I am not by any means accusing you of lying not sure where you are reading this in my post.
my point has always been Anschutz never said they designed their new chamber after Bleiker that is all I am saying. is it obvious they copied Bleiker that is a person's opinion, but it is the same like cars they all at some point in design have similar features.
you know I have a great interest in RF regardless of what they are used for. it is my understanding that a Bleiker will not leave the factory unless it shoots to a certain level even if they have to pull the barrel several times, so I do know something about them.

I make one simple comment of the likelihood that Anschutz would say let alone admit they copied another maker's design, and you get all bent out of shape seriously!

Lee

Why does it matter to you?
It matters for the same reason you gave earlier.

Tim, the fact is a lot of forum readers know who you are and your shooting experience so how you phrase a statement can be taken as true just because of the source.
It may be that a lot of forum readers know who you are and believe what you say.

Yes, Anschutz never put it in writing that they were copying Bleiker. No one would expect that. If that's the extent of your point, that's fine. But a more open minded and nonbelligerent response would have laid it to rest in a more agreeable manner.

Lee,

Let me rephrase myself. I understood the point of your original post. But why are you still arguing the toss? I agreed at post #21 that Anschutz's did not explicitly state the 54.30 was like a Bleiker, but I think I have demonstrated they would like the public to think this.

I don't understand thecreason for the diatribe against Bleiker at all.

Yet you continue to ridiculously post to this thread. I am not even sure what you are upset about because obviously you are to start calling me names.

Your reaction seems oversensitive and I regret that. There's no name calling and I'm not upset. It's not clear why you seem bent on being argumentative. It's unnecessary.

Mr. kawsam62s. Did you get your question answered?

Thats really hilarious! I made one comment as a reminder of what I wrote-
Unless I'm mistaken, the separate barrel face means Anschutz don't have to time the extractor slots. And it allowed Anschutz to say their new 54.30 has a chamber like a Bleiker.
very unlikely they would say it is similar to another manufacture's barrel. the floating breech means you could in theory swap barrels around and not have to worry about extractor timing.

Lee

Can you tell me where in that statement in bold I was argumentized?
After that post you and Tim go off on me that is so obvious that they did copy Bleiker you guys just didn't want to let it go that Anschutz would never say it is like a Bleiker you know very well Anschutz would give 50 reasons on how it is different.
and here is the most ridiculous thing about all of this you probably never shot a Bleiker let alone own one and the same is probably true for Tim. I can understand if you did own one, but seriously to post all that you have on a rifle you probably only seen pictures of!
somebody described you with the perfect analogue! Vicent Price where are you!
