Anschutz Model 54 match grade

RE: Bolt and trigger group. Hope someone can help I need both. Does anyone know where I can buy or have bolt made? Custom builder?

I have the barrel receiver and want to build up a rilfe. The match 22lr is new to me so I need some source help.

Is the barrel a really nice aftermarket barrel? If not by the time you buy a bolt and trigger you could probably buy a complete beater 54 off of Gunbroker.......

Barrel receiver is is excellant condition. From Champions Choice it looks like a rifle would cost close to 2K. I have $250.00 in the BR. If I can pull a rilfe together for another 1K or less I will be on the plus side.

I am not a real expert on 54 actions but I know that there are at least 3 different bolts..... Exactly what do you have?

Depending on what trigger you want you can find them used with some frequency and new from various suppliers from 245-350....depending.

Just about every time I tried to put something together myself from bargain used parts (and there have been many) I ended up paying more than just buying a complete rifle.

Mike,
As 1 Merlin says, you could end up spending a ton of money looking for a bolt/needle in a haystack, especially with a Rimfire Rifle. But it occurs to me and as a suggestion, I'd get hold of Dan Killough @
www.killoughshootingsports.com . Dan (in Winters,Texas) is a dealer of Anschutz rifles and might be able to help you out or suggest an alternative way to get you what you need. He's a super good guys, not to mention being heavily involved (for many years) in Rimfire sales and the ARA (American Rimfire Association) Southern Region VP. He's helped several folks I know and I've had personal dealings with him in the past...a REALLY good guy to know. Hope he can be of help in your issues.

sent email to Dan. I hope he can help. I have built up M1 rifles from receivers and know the issue of cost. The 5 M1s that I built up cost me anywhere from $900-1200 to complete. I could have purchased service grades at the time for $400.00. But the 5 I have were built by me with NOS parts except for the stock. 2 receivers were NOS replacement parts and 1 barreled receiver came in the foil bag-NOS. So for my effort I had fun doing it, I learned a ton about the M1 and I have 5 rifles that are basically new WWII and Korean era rifles. The $3-5000 people are willing to pay for unissued rifles tells me I did ok.

I very much appreciate the comments and help. And if I can complete this project I will let those interested know how much it cost.

Don't forget to post on rimfire central too. There are some friendly and knowledgeable fellows on the anschutz forum. E.

Neal Steep is also very knowledgeable. Here is his web site www.iss-internationalshootersservice.com/‎. Good luck to you.

Plan on reaching deep for a bolt. Last price I saw was $695. It will have to be head spaced also. There are two basic 54 actions, not counting the square action - flag safety and trigger mounted safety. The triggers do no interchange. You may or may not get lucky with the head space. I have three 54s and a 1808 barreled receiver. None of the bolts will interchange.

Not trying to piss in your punch bowl, just trying to be straight with you as I went down this path already.
There’s a reason incomplete anschutz 64/54 rifles can be found in the $250-400 range. The parts are super expensive if you can find them, not interchangeable, and no longer produced. Example:
Basic 54 action stock-$350
Base 54 trigger-$550-650
Bolt-$500-800
You’ll seriously end up spending $1500+ just to make it functional and by cobbling together parts from who knows how many different guns, produces over many different years, there’s no guarantee the end result will live up to your expectations. Unless you have a sentimental attachment to your current project, sell your barreled receiver, put the $1k you were hoping to spend on parts towards a complete rifle.

Going by current list price for a bolt and trigger you would be looking at $1225, you could find a decent used complete rifle for the same or less. generally you can find a complete rifle in the $700-900 range.
if it were me, I would look for a good used rifle.

I am betting the OP has moved on considering his original post was 6 1/2 years ago. Hopefully so anyway.
