Another home made stock thread

The other stock in this thread got painted today ,I've had it in primer for a while so I got it all sanded last night ready for today. Had to be careful opening the door cause the wind is about 35 mph blowing right in the door. It came out pretty clean , a lot cleaner than the last one. I'm not sure I like the color but I'm not changing it. It looks good in the sunlight just not under the LED lights in the shop. So anyway here it is

4 coats of clear , no runs this time. this clear is really slow to set up. 20 min between coats so its a lot of sitting around waiting, not something I'm good at. At least I didn't stick my finger in it which is what I usually do. I was done spraying at noon and at 3:30 I could still easily put a fingerprint in it in the taped off area.

Beautiful shoot, I call that a "Motha Fkn No Rub"
It's sure has been a week of Red. Your 2 and my 3.
I like the softer/finer metallic on this, it gives the color a rich feel.
What clear are you using?
I have a automotive clear that I use in my process that is strictly a barrier/scratch coat for my polyester to go on top, I can spray 3 double wet coats and be buffing in 2 hours @70°f It's designed for 1-2 panels on a car no baking.

My local jobber will ship, they have quart kits of the speed clear.
I think I'm paying $175 for the gallon kit

I'm going to have to build more guns I have nothing left to paint. I'm really just too cheap to buy the good stuff.
I tend to think that way also. If I were doing work for others I'd be concerned with things like durability. But since I just work for myself I just worry about what fits my needs. If it works that's good. If it's cheap too that's perfect.
