Prior to todays test I had made it out once since previous post. I tweaked brass a bit…increased bump to 0.003” and turned again for a shade more neck clearance. I now have 0.0015” per side clearance. I still can’t reach the 34+g LT-30 some of you are running without excessive bolt lift and extractor swipes( there is no ejector in my Borden action). Maybe I’ve got a super spicey lot of LT-30. Node I’m using is 1/2 g wide and yielded groups low 0.1” to mid 0.1”s at 100 yards.
Test today was mid point that node. 3 score targets new brass-3 targets 1X fired brass. Conditions weren’t awful but never got consecutive shots in same condition. Test would have been much more valid if I had alternated brass each target. I shot all 3 targets with new brass first. By the time I shot 1X brass I had condition and holds pretty much figured out.
Not running near enough neck tension. Awaiting bushings from Wilson and supply of N130 before I shoot again. N130 arrives Monday…no clue on bushings as there’s been no shipping notification from Wilson. They might have not had them in stock.
Still pretty pleased with where I’m at and what I’ve learned. Only 140 rounds on barrel and I’m new to cartridge.
