Annie Induction Annealer - my experience

I like to give credit where credit is due. And in this case, the guys at Fluxeon did really good by me.

I was an early adopter of the Annie annealer. It had a serial number in the low 100's. Well, I used it over the years in fairly small amounts and it worked fine. That is, until recently. I had heard stories of these things burning out, and finally after a batch of 50 6.5cm more quickly in a row, mine stopped working. I had even purchased their water heat exchanger to help prevent this problem.

I contacted them about warranty vs repair. Well, they covered it 100%! It did take some time. They got affected pretty badly early by Chinese export problems.

Apparently over the years they improved it quite a bit. They said the new one I got has a larger capacity transformer, a new temperature actuated cooling fan with changes in the box for air flow, and some different heat protection circuitry. They also went ahead and sent me new coils, and a new heat exchanger! Both of these had improved quality over the ones I had from long ago.

So now this product seems much more robust. I'm really pleased with it for what it now offers. I tested it with a batch for 200 308 lapua, and the cooling fan did spin up. But this was much more than what I did to it when it burnt out. But the annealing was perfect and really quick. Just over 2 seconds annealing time each. That's what I was always wanting with this machine.

tl:dr - Fluxeon guys did good on warranty of old unit which is now a much improved design. So far so good!

I have not had any problems with my Annie, and every contact with the manufacturer was a good one. I had a pump motor fail, and replaced it with a different item, but no Annie failures. They have been continuously improving the product.

I, too, was an early adopter. In fact I returned my unit 2 or 3 times and they replaced it with a new unit each time with no complaints as they were still fine tuning the device. Well, they got it right and I have had NO PROBLEMS with it since.
In all cases Fluxeon was right there with solutions and not excuses! My annealing is stable as can be and I have not been able to push it to over-load even with annealing up to 100 cases in quick succession.
I still think that my ANNIE is the ideal annealer based on performance and price.

Great to hear from multiple sources that Fluxeon is standing behind their product! I tried to buy one several years ago when they were having technical issues and moving their physical location... it didn’t work out for me then. But I’m planning on pursuing one again based on this thread.

With all the things they told me about that were new, I felt much more confident testing out and putting it through its paces. So far so good. So much easier to set up and not worry about compared to my Annealeze (which I bought later for a large batch of 223 I wanted to anneal).

Anyone know of plans with the timer ? Got the basic one here already. Just need four standoff legs, an piece of 1/4 in cplywood, drill and a way to make a paddlee attached to rubber bands.

I don't understand what you are asking. I have an Annie, maybe I can help. What is a paddlee?
