Annealing using Tempilaq, Re-use Brass ?

Question, after having used Tempilaq to monitor the temperature while annealing your brass.
Do you clean off the burnt Templiaq and resize and reload that piece of brass?

I have used 0000 steel wool to clean the burnt material off, the Brass looks ok.
What's your thoughts on resizing and reusing that piece of brass. Any Harm?

I put Tempilaq on all my brass, anneal after every firing, clean it up, resize and use it. Been doing this for years. If there's a supposed draw back , someone will have to point out what it is. Zero issues here...

I read on the web where some people keep some shot out/worn out brass for the "testing" phase, just keep it separate from the good stuff and re-use it over & over.

I've not done a lot of annealing nor for very long. But, what I have been doing is re-using my testing brass to test again. Keep it seperate and alongside my annealer. Using an Annealeez. FWIW.

I never get any burnt Tempilaq. How do you?

Tempilaq is a wax substance with a specific melting point. I apply a very thin line inside the case neck. When it reaches the melting point, it turns from the color in the bottle to a clear substance (wax). I have carbon inside the case neck also from previous firings. Not any different.

If you are allowing the flame to directly impinge on the Tempilaq and burning it, the indicator is worthless regarding indicating the temperature reached.

I start all my test pieces out under-temp and work my way up, until the correct temp is reached.
So "NO" I don't throw them away, but re-anneal, at the correct temp and size them with the rest.
I clean the test cases off, as you do, so as not to tumble them again.
I also use my Templaq "INSIDE" the case neck. If you coat the inside and outside of the case neck with Templaq, then watch closely, as it melts, the outside will melt first (about 1/4 of a sec.) before the inside does. From my own observations.

I watched this video, some time ago. I would have to compare it with, a machinist chambering a barrel without using tools for measurements (just his eyeballs). Just take it with a grain of salt. If you feel it works for you, use it, if not, don't.

Do you know who Eric Cortina is? I view measuring bullet seating force a tool that measures. Anybody else I would dismiss the video also.

But I certainly agree that annealing brings out a wider range of opinions that most other things (beside barrel break in, best solvent to clean your barrel, etc.)

Once you determine the set up you like. Why do you think you have to put Templaq on every case. Why would'nt you just do them all the same time?

Duh Dude, your large collection, consists of 4 cases max. for each run I record, in a written data manual for future reference. Lapua cases, do not anneal the same as Win. cases of the same caliber.
I only do this once, we mere mortals can't anneal one case and call it good, when looking for the "dwell"(seconds) time.
By the way, some of use are trying to give constructive advice, not give negative insults to someone else's options.
No need to get your panties in a wad.

Locked up, staying apart, being told what you can and can not do, who wouldn't be wound up tight?
At times, it feels like someone is cranking my handle, real hard.
Apologies
