What's outthere for a guy wanting to anneal smaller...well shorter cartridges? Been using a 10mm socket drill and a torch for a while but wouldn't mind having something a bit more .... automated. Any suggestions for around $200 if possible? Or at least something to look for on the used market

I have a set-up might work for you. I use it for all my casings as I dont do anything larger than 308 sized 6mm's. Cheap simple and I can easily do over 100 in half an hour. $20 amazon mini potters wheel, ss spring off a Coleman cooler, drywall plastic screw insert and Primal Rights annealing case holder cut down.

This DIY induction device works really well. It can be put together for around $220.00 or so. I put together a kit based on this set-up and feel it anneals brass great. I use it for S A cases and the even shorter cases like 6BR and off-springs from it. 30BR 6BRX

What's the caliber called. Do you need to anneal a straight wall case? Necked cases don't crack in the body. Do you get good case life if you don't anneal.

First post at top — That looks like pistol brass. Almost nobody anneals pistol brass. The heat can move quickly to the base and make it too weak at the base. I’ve seen old pictures of them sitting in a tray of water, half way up the brass, to stop the heat from reaching the base. You could make a gizmo that holds water and spins. I know you’re pretty inventive.
I just reload it until it splits, then buy new.
