Anderson Creek 400 Yard PA Tack Driver Lite Match 7/30

Gotta be limits or the sport will die quicker than it is. Personally I don't agree with the move to 4 inches. No one wants to stay within established guide lines in today's world. Need another edge or crutch. Now, if a club wants an unlimited class I have no problem but the history or actually lack of it with rail guns tells that story, limited interest. Now back to my real reason in case anyone missed it. REREAD my first sentence.
Hi Jeff,

My response was to just point out why you might not have gotten folks that shoot 600 & 1000 yard bench rest to come shoot. Obviously not all of them shoot stocks wider than 4” but there are a pretty large number. With that said if it was just the wider stock width that won relays everyone would have them and it’s just not the case.

The match went well, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Number one thing I would like to see would be 6 targets instead of 4. Food was good, as always. It was nice to have several new shooters. We all got beat for the small group of the day money which was donated by gunnmhr, forum gold member, by 14 year old Marshall Tressler. Nice shooting young man. Hope to see you all next year. Rolock, I will get 2 guns ready next year and bring them both. You take your pick, I will shoot the other one. I don't want you to miss the fun.

I would like to take a minute and thank Anderson Creek Sportsmen’s Club for hosting this event. Also I would like to thank Tom, Walt, Jeff, and Dave for there help and support for this match.

The range looked great, the targets ran smoothly, the scoring and measuring of the targets went well, and the food was great.

Also thanks to the competitors that showed up to shoot this match. It was a good time, good food, good people, and new friends.

There are still about 10 spots open for the 120 competitor field for "The Tack Driver III" Come show us what you have and take home some cash!

I agree with Jim on this. If you enjoyed this match and would like to test your skills against the best then the Tack Driver III is where you can do it.

His match is well run, good food, good people, and most of all very challenging. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year and will be attending again this year.

So Keefe, what's next years date. I already have it figured out. IF my second group matched my first group I would have been in the dough. One bad shot, I can figure that out till next year. Yea I know.....IF a frog had wings.........

That will be up to Jeremiah but that is good to know. I am sure Jeremiah will try to make it blend as well as possible. So you could go to a shoot and shoot for no prize, or you could shoot where you might get rewarded, just sayin.

Love ya' like a brother Jeff, but it's not about bringing home the
brass ring. It's about the thrill of shooting to 1000 yards. If AC had
a longer range, I'd be blowing off Ridgway.

No, it's having a reactive target. The oddity of Ridgeway is the 950 and 1000 yard targets are the easiest. Your 7 is definitely capable, looking for you to move up the ranks Fuj.

Ethen, glad you could make it. I wanted to look at your rifle closer but shooting and measuring groups kept me hopping, I no longer hop very quick. Come back when you can, we need good young shooters.

Well just my 3 1/2 cents worth.....After giving a few days to let
this match sink in, I'm 100% in favor of staying with the 400
yard format. "However" !! A more hit visible target needs found !!
The match should stay challenging, just as the Deer match's are.
Note that any hit in the white on a Deer target is highly visible
at 400 yards. No spotting scopes needed. and could be done away
with to get back to the intent of the match.

Hat's off to Jeremiah for this first endeavor. Having run IPSC matches
for many years, it can be a pain in the azz at times, and no pleasing
everyone with formats.....And note about head count.....It will grow on
it's own. There were some new faces that came out on top, that alone
spreads the word.

See Yinz this Saturday, up on the windy knob, where if you don't like
the wind, wait 5 seconds for a more unfavorable moment.....

Bear in mind the intent is to duplicate the Tack Driver Match as close as possible. 300 yds is much closer to 300 meters than 400 yds. Plus, at 300 yards see bullet holes on any target gets easier. Maybe Jeremiah will put YOUR target at 400. I will offer that as a suggestion just cause I like you.

Well that being the situation, 300 meters would be about 328 yards .
Should keep everyone happy shooting to 300.
That is the idea, you are correct. Doesn't really matter to me except I would like to shoot a PPC and 300 is a bit better for that......depending on conditions of course.

Let me know by Thursday evening if your coming Sat.
I can tell you now !! I just finished seating bullets for it. Going
to try that joystick rest again. I devised a way to lock out the
pivoting head. Headed to the range this after noon to give it
a run. Bald Eagle will stay in the trunk though.

Ok, I will see if I figured out how to post picture, of the range. This is how it can be at a winter match.20170319_115840_004.jpg
