Anderson Creek 400 Yard PA Tack Driver Lite Match 7/30

I want this match to run smoothly and be fun for all that attend. If spotting scopes become an issue due to space or people leaving them in the walkways then we will go back to the original rules.
I could see a problem with tripod spotters on the walkway. Just some
thing more that has to be moved in between relays and obstructing
shooters, placing gear. I place mine forward of my stool, and just have
to lean over to check the shot......I was just out to to do my final tweaks
at the 400 yard Sparta range. I used the saved and taped, cream and red
spotter targets from the last deer shoot. It's amazing what a 60 power
80mm lens will see over a 52mm lens. I threw my foulers purposely into
the large outer red rings. I found one with the NF but needed the Nikon
spotter to see the other three, and the conditions were fair.

Either way, the "Flag in a Can" load is doing well, and if Alvin, Jeff and
Jeremiah stay home, I should do well !!

Five more days and a wakeup !! And have the coffee ready. I'll be pulling
out of Erie around 4:00 am and picking up a stray or two on the way.

There will only be a problem if someone decides to make one. There is no absolute setup time limit and if one needs help there are if anything too many volunteers. In my mind this is a non issue until someone decides to make it one. I feel my blood pressure rising . What would help would be when eating go outside of the shooting area so competitors have an open path from the cleaning tables to the benches and don't need to dodge a grazer with a hot bowl of chili.

Just a suggestion.....Have the food inside the range house by the indoor
bench's. Coffee in the kitchen Area like the winter shoots. There is a piece
of grounds equipment in the pavilion we could move, then replace after
the match. It would open up that back corner for another table to be
brought over.

It's going to be bright in the eyes early on. I have me a full
box of newly minted "Flag in a Can" ammo, and a rifle at about
20 lbs.....I ain't scared !!

How about some 1000 yard guys and IBS guys getting out of your comfort zone and coming to shoot. Surely your not afraid too. Are you?
Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately I will be out of town and would have love to but couldn't anyway because the rules exclude my stocks that are legal in 600 and 1000 yard competitions.

Planning on coming to Mifflin County in Aug. hope to see you there.

Yup, no paddles. Borrow one off Mike?

He'd have to switch to a BAT, That would start a BIG rabbit hole, LOL

It would be nice to see no stock limitations, If 4" stocks are allowed, why not 6" as long as they make weight

Good Luck to all, I wish I could be there.

Gotta be limits or the sport will die quicker than it is. Personally I don't agree with the move to 4 inches. No one wants to stay within established guide lines in today's world. Need another edge or crutch. Now, if a club wants an unlimited class I have no problem but the history or actually lack of it with rail guns tells that story, limited interest. Now back to my real reason in case anyone missed it. REREAD my first sentence.

what is your opinion on buttstocks that are 2.5 to 3 inches wide at the bottom and require a rear bag with custom ear spacing?

Jeff, I'm not sure it will diminish the sport as much as promote it, push the limits i say. Back in the day, Williamsport limited stocks, barrel contours, muzzle breaks and I'm sure a couple other things in the 17lb class. I believe their attendance has pretty much maintained throughout the years of change. The 2 piece rest and rules that go with it eliminates rail guns and such, there is still shooter input as the gun doesn't weigh 100lbs and is merely a trigger pulling contest. In the end, money alone isn't going to get you to the winners circle.

Mike, Yep, nothing like embarrassing yourself on the internet. lol. Spell check is now enabled.

The point is....what is the difference between a 4 inch forend with a 0.75 inch wide buttstock, and a 3 inch forend rifle that has a 2.5 inch wide buttstock? If one is "not within the guidelines", then why is the other?

There will be no debates while on the clock, lol........So I could say the option is to have an unlimited class. I see the heavy class in rim fire are using one piece rests. Might as well throw in a cable release, why not?

I hear, Well there is no real advantage. Of course there is, why do it if there isn't. I have no problem doing whatever. Radar fire control, go for it. But., make it a true unlimited whatever goes, goes class. Those who need another edge, go for it, have class for it. I could be wrong but I bet it would be a very small class that would kill itself off . As the rules expand the participants diminish. No it's not just the rules expanding but I believe it has been a part of it.
