and so it begins...6.5 gt

Seems like a ton of work + money for a 6.5x47 Lapua with a GT stamped case
I wouldn't call $275 for a reamer a ton of money, I'm sizing with my Forster 6GT die and using my 6.5 competition seater.
The only work involved is lubing necks and running brass through an expander mandrel, it gets even simpler if you buy Alpha 25 GT brass.

Could be said about all wildcats ever. Sometimes it’s about exploring and learning something new and not just about the cheapest, easiest path to a destination.
Uhmm, the destination is basically remaking a 6.5x47 Lapua as that is the parent case for the 6/6.5GT.

I completely get that, been shooting 6.5 Creedmoor and 284 Win well before any headstamped brass was available but that was the only way to do it then.

Dave......I'm surprised Mike did'nt talk you into one of his signature
canoe paddle stocks ?? You need to try it out at this years Pa. Tack
Driver Lite. Quite a few of the Ridgway shooters come out for it. It's
300 yards, so should be a cake walk for ya', maybe LOL. You shoot
both group and score. Mike won overall last year followed by Joe
Stewart. Tough crowed.......

Hi Fuj,
I haven't shot a score match since 1989.

There was a time I dabbled with the 6.5 but got it out of my system
and went right back to the 7mm's. However.....That .284 ELF of mine
that I shortened from a .284 Winchester is right between the 6.5x47
and the 6GT. Almost turned that into a 6.5 when my 7mm bullets
dried up. But I said.........Naaaaah, and wild catted another 7mm based
on the 284 Winchester. This one is in testing !!

So, anybody have any word on any other forums or match's where
6bra1k headed off to ?? Several years is a bit long, so hope he's in
good health in at least that respect.

That's some nice looking wood. Who cut and shaped it ?? Did Mike
do a laying on of the hands on this one also ??
Hi Fuj
The stock is a modified Tooley tracker.
It's actually a laminate.
Carl Bernosky had a pallet of walnut that he had been sitting on for many years.
He fabbed it together and duplicated it.
There are two stocks.
My spotter has the other.
Alex Sitmam bedded and finished it.
Mike fitted the barrel.
