6.5 MM ? For Highpower SilhouetteSome guide

Lapua had just shared on Facebook a gentleman won in Missouri using a 6.5 BR shooting 108s from it.

They didn’t specify if he used any different bullets for Rams.

I know there is a female shooter in the High Power ranks that won the national championship using a 6BR and 105s.

She mentioned she loses a Ram here and there but the low recoil helps her out on the other targets.

For myself, I like a 260 loaded with 107s for C,P,T and then 142s for rams. Or even just loading the 142s in the 2500 range and using them for everything is an option as well.

6.5 or 7 BR would be the go to for light recoil options and a 6.5x47 or a 260 would be my choice for a slightly larger case.
The new 7br brass from peterson should be enough to go ahead with the 7br now

6.5 CM has the same case capacity as 260 Rem, but a much better case design.

Ummm, no...
The Creedmoor has slightly less case capacity than the standard 260 Rem.
It's whole design premise was to load the 140gr and up match bullets to AR magazine length without encrouching into the powder space that you get from loading a 260 Rem to simular length.
Hence why the Creedmoor casing is shorter than the 260 Rem case.
In a single feed bolt gun this is a non issue for the 260 Rem, allowing more powder, and greater velocities.
Plus you can "improve" the 260 Rem upping the ante even more.

Don't get me wrong, the Creedmoor is an excellent cartridge, for what it was designed for.
But it's not the be all, end all it's advertized as.

That was Mark Pharr. I believe he is running about 2,600 fps for the 108s. I think that he is running a bit shy of that with either the lapua 139s, berger 140s, or berger 153s on the rams.

That's Cathy Winstead-Severin (Good Shoooting Inc) who shoots the 6Br.

I and two other members of our local silhouette club have been running 6.5 BRs for the last couple of years and are very satisfied with the results. Some rams rung on occasion, but an acceptable trade-off for the better results on C-P-Ts. One other master-class shooter is using a 6.5 TCU with very good success. You would be well served by either chambering.

What bullets in the 6.5Br?
