The pictures reminded me of some of the fox deer hunters would bring to me when I worked in the fur business in the late 70's and early 80's. Fox prices were high, north of $80 for prime fox handled properly. The route stops right after deer season hunters would bring in fox that were almost blown into two pieces after being shot by a 30-06 core lokt or similar through the shoulder. The deer hunters had heard that fox were up to $80 and assumed they would get that.
When offered $5-10 for the scrap pieces of fox some of the hunters would fly off the handle complaining how I was just trying to rip them off as I just paid $80 for that last fox and I should get the same. The best thing I could say was try selling this to XYZ whoever was the closest competitor.
It's funny how everyone seems to have their own idea about "damaged" fur...a lot of guys recommend V-Max/Ballistic Tip/Hollow Point bullets {usually in excess of 3000fps}. Then you see the coyotes with an 8" diameter hole where the bullet impact splashed the meat out......."what am I gonna do with that???" Answer: "well the rest of it's good...."
