Were they trying to sale those Savages as new? Cabelas gets models specified for them only (10T for example).Cheaper than California dirt perhaps, but not much. They opened a new store in town just as a big box sporting good store was closing up. I went in on opening day, everything was way overpriced. Then they had straw buyers going to Cabela's and buying Savages on sale and putting them on the shelves with a hefty markup. They were out of business after only 6 months.
Yes they were, and I saw new, off the shelf model 12FV's sitting on the rack in another nearby retailer marked up to $600 and being sold as new. Both these retailers could not get enough stock through normal channels during the panic buy days. Were they trying to sale those Savages as new? These bastids were famous for price gouging during the Obama sales. $80.00 for box of .380acp as I recall....
In my opinion, it's their product to price as they see fit. That certainly doesn't mean that I have to give them any of my business, though.
