Am I the only one?

Who has a wife encouraging him to buy MORE guns? The current state of things in our country has her concerned. The funny thing is for the last few years I have been “thinning out the herd” and putting those funds into long range bench rest shooting. There is actually a little room in the safe now, but I guess I have some more Christmas shopping to do.

Merry Christmas everyone and may God bless you!

Dave.

I am one of the lucky ones. My better half does not question what I buy. I am the one who is holding back until I get better at reloading and better muzzle management.

Wife doesn't care that I buy or spend money on firearms. She doesn't like them, but bought me my first reloading kit 15 years ago. It has grown since then... I think she wishing she didn't get me into this bottomless pit. She doest really support it but doesn't care. Bills are paid, food is there, warm house, got her a new vehicle. What else is needed? Both my boys like hunting and shooting. All good on home front. Still young in our journey, 18 years together and counting ...

Ps. She still has more shoes than I have firearms, I am gaining on her. She doesn't compete with powder, primers, brass, or bullets though

My wife bought me a Left Hand Remington 40X Custom Shop .308 Repeater for my 65th birthday. Now that's a keeper. She has never questioned me on anything gun related I've purchased. Her philosophy is similar to cheek9075's wife: the bills are paid, there is food in the fridge, the house is seasonally warm or cool, her car is regularly gassed up...she finds it all rather amusing, especially when our grandson comes over to borrow something from my safe that I never see again (he figures he'll get it one day, so why not this day?). But I have my own last laugh on him when I "return borrow" something out of his.

She did make comment on buying my 2 boys firearms for Christmas... she ask if another was really needed. I said do you really need another pair of shoes? Only issue is where to keep them. Safe is full, gun cabinet is full, guess I need a bigger safe.
She doesn't know about the powder i scored today or the extra bullets I received 2 days ago.
BTW her Christmas presents are here. She will be happy and so will I.

Good wife, good life! Could not ask for more. Good wife, 2 boys that are interested in what I am. Wife has her own things but joins in somethings. Only thing I regret is not having a daughter for her to spend time with. The only thing I regret.

Well, mine growed up showing horses and coon hunting. She
had a few guns when we got married and likes to hunt. She used to go to shooting matches, when we used to go , and could hang in there with the crowd. It'll be 29 years the 21st and looks like we're in for the long haul.

When I met my wife she had more guns than most of my friends. She even bought a rifle in her 18th B-day “because she could”. It was a Win 94 in 7-30 Waters no less. She’s told me she’d never be mad at me for buying a gun and I suppose that’s been pretty true over the 20 years we’ve been together. She’s a keeper

Got a great wife, been together 46 years, will be married for 40 in February. She was surprised by the fact that my guns are worth more than the house. Been meaning to change that by buying a cabin and land. Used tell people my wife was on the Swedish Bikini Team and no body doubted me. At 62, I still have the most beautiful woman in the room. She has 4 brothers, me and 2 sons, so she understands; boys will be boys. Makes me wonder about my grand daughters.

I’ve been married to my wife for 32 years now she’s a great woman never complains about what I spend my money on she’s actually bought me a night force ATACR 5 x 25 x 56 and just yesterday she wanted her own A.R. so we went and bought her one I was tired this morning and did not want to go so she is outback hunting on her own yeah she’s a keeper

Wife doesn't get mad per se, but I get the evil eye when I mention something new on the horizon. LOL. She has her crocheting, and a new rescue puppy to keep her frustrated at (rather than me ;) ). Seems like I end up walking the damn dog more than she does and I wasn't really in favor of getting another dog to begin with, but I figured I could use the dog as a shield if things get too warm for me. She didn't really ask my opinion about getting another dog, so I don't ask her opinion on getting another gun either. LOL.

Wife has to ask "which gun range" when I mention I'm headed to the gun range, as I may go to the one 2 miles away for RF fun, or the one an hour away for CF fun. Can't really complain, and it does no good anyways, so I just try to occupy my time and stay close enough to the entrance of the doghouse that I see a sliver of daylight. ;)

My little wife of 40 years owns more guns than anybody I know. Every time I buy something it's always followed with, "Hey, look what I bought you"! It's worked so far.....

Her last day of work was Thursday, retiring after 40 years of providing support to keep our nuclear stockpile in fine working order. As a retirement gift, she received a S&W model 34-1. She likes to shoot her S&W 617 and I figured she would really like the smaller "Lady Smith". The only problem with the 34-1 is it was made in the early 60's and has never been fired. It's going to be her call, to shoot it or not. When I presented it to her, the first comment was, "That's too pretty to shoot"!

My wife introduced us to firearms. A little over 30 years ago she went out and bought a SW Model 10 for personal protection. She told me about it when she brought it home. Up to this point, my sports were racquetball and tennis.
This led to my buying a Sako to shoot from the bench. That led to M1A's and AR's to use in competition; and a diversion to 1911 and Model 42 for Bullseye.
She has since upgraded her personal protection to a 20 gauge.

She really just doesn't care what I buy or don't buy. That said, I work at keeping only ones that I use in competition and backyard squirrel control.
