alpha brass

All Alpha 6bra brass is not the same.

I only had problems with Alpha 6bra OCD brass when trying to run past the middle node- +30.4 or so grains of H4895.

In the lower and middle node, Alpha shot as well as Lapua in my Wheeler chambered 6bra.

@Ccrider did you mean to say 32.4? That’s not the middle node. That’s nuclear.

I shoot 30.1 in Lapua and 28 gave hard bolt lift in Alpha.

Or maybe you didn’t mean 105 class.

I was having hard bolt lift with Alpha 6 bra brass. I put the brass in a cordless drill and spun it using green scotchbrite to scuff it for a second or two. All pressure problems went away. Night and day difference. It has worked for others also

sounds good but why should a person need to do that alpha needs to adjust things a little.

Ive not had problems with Alpha BRA but I did notice something while prepping 200 new cases This week. There is some sort of finish coating or something on this new brass. I don’t recall a “film” on my first 200 where Ive had no problems. Won’t be shooting this brass for awhile but I will do a test. Maybe 0000 steel wool or schotchbrite is the answer. BTW all measurement from this new lot are exactly the same as my first lot.
