WOW!
I use 31.1 of H4895 with a 103 VT with a Lapua case for 3020-3030 fps. In the Alpha case 30.7 gets me to the same speed. I did still fire them all one time with a mild load.
Your setting will vary depending on number of firings and neck wall thickness. My number is likely not correct for your brass. Seems potentially counter productive to use an induction annealer at the wrong setting. The Aztec upgrade is worth the cost. You could run your brass on someone else’s Aztec to guesstimate the setting for your machine. Or you could send it in for their analysis. I would not feel comfortable annealing my brass at a setting derived from someone else’s brass. Those that shoot the Alpha 6BRA brass and anneal with the AMP(non AZTEC mode) what setting do you use? AMP has no data for the Alpha brass and I am trying to avoid sending them pieces to be tested. Thanks.

Hi Alex, what primers are you using with the Alpha brass and 30.7 of H4895 ?I use 31.1 of H4895 with a 103 VT with a Lapua case for 3020-3030 fps. In the Alpha case 30.7 gets me to the same speed. I did still fire them all one time with a mild load.
Yes, in their 6 dasher brass had to push hard to seat the BR4, to the bottom, tried some Remington 7 1/2 and seating is normal... measured both primers...the Remington primers have a taper on the very front with the rest of the cup the exact size as the CCI which are a straight cylinder through out the diameter...So the primer pockets in the brass taper slightly tighter at the bottom. Use the Remington 7 1/2 in mine for a normal primer seat feel...the primers pockets hold up good.Anyone find the primer pockets to be small in diameter? ...... jim
Yes I do. On a related note, how is everyone dealing with this. I chose to leave the lockers alone, figuring they will open up soon enough and then I can uniform them.Anyone find the primer pockets to be small in diameter? ...... jim
I have the 21st century and no doubt it will uniform them. I just wonder if the benefit in uniforming will outweigh the harm in opening them up at the bottom. As long as my es stays in the single digits I will not be touching the pockets.I struggled uniforming the first order of Dasher brass I got using a Sinclair uniformer. I asked Tom at Alpha about it and he suggested I look at the uniformer from PMA Tool.
I can't say, they're certainly decent brass. Probably more even for thickness around them than lapua. It's gonna be a year before I would say I can decide what is "best", as I have lapua on more than 40 firings that shoots just like it did at 3rd cycle. I'll do my best to do a good job testing some things and reporting to them what I discover. I wouldn't wait on me, buy alpha, lapua, or both and have at it.
Tom
Just curious; any updates on your testing?
