After market Savage stocks

Looking for a stock of a Savage target action. Any one know who makes them? Needs to be for a 3 actions screw and right bolt left port.

Try "HAMMERJACK", a site member. His work is really nice. ALSO!!!!!! be sure you know you action screw length.......4.40" or 3.44" are the two in Savage's Target Actions that are current. Regardless of serial number or anything else MEASURE what you have.

Here is an example:
Long Range Benchrest (LRBR) Price: $349.00

The Long Range Bench Rest stock is a great foundation for that long range varmint rifle or for competition benchrest matches. It features a vertical pistol grip, 3/4" wide flat tracking surface for the rear bag as well as a 3" wide forend. The LRBR stock weighs approximately 5 lbs. A 1/2" recoil pad is standard. FEATURES:

3-inch wide flat forend
Flat bottom buttstock for better tracking in the bags
Vertical pistol-grip with palm swell and thumb ramp
1/2-inch thick Pachmayr recoil pad
Weight = 5 pounds

Try tactical liquidations as they have a whole load of mcmillan stocks at fantastic price's. Dont forget manners stocks,shurley bros,PRT stocks,and google stocks for the savage firearms.

I had xlr industries make one for my fcp with the bolt release down by the trigger, which is hard to find.. They said they would make a stock for any action.

Doyle Anglin of Dixie Guns in Widner, GA. He can make just about anything, in any wood, and inlet for anything. A well-kept secret.

I think SSS was a good plan. I presently shoot a 6BRX with a Savage PTA and an SSS Dog Tracker stock. I am in the process of building a standard tracker stock for my new 284 WIN 1000 yd gun. The stocks come with only minimal finishing to do and are easy to bed.
I bought the pattern they had in stock and got almost instant shipment.

For those who have bought stocks from SSS. What did you do to finish them? I read an article about applying clear coat, which is what I would like, that seemed pretty advanced and required a lot of tools. The prospect of having to send it somewhere and incur more time and expense isn't a pleasant thought. It just surprises me that they don't offer a finished product.

The SSS stock I am building now was a stock they had on hand. I asked for a different color, and I would have had an unknown wait. They had some in stock and I picked the one I bought and got it in a week or so.

I bought a SSS and clear coated it myself. Not that hard really. All you need is a spray gun and sandpaper. Or, go to you local body shop and ask what it would cost. And good luck getting the stock when they quoted. Usually it's double or triple what they say.
