Adams v3 trickler question.

I have the auto trickler v3 setup. I do not have the auto throw powder dispenser at the moment. Can I stick the tray and partially fill it with my manual powder thrower and place it on the scale for the v3 to finish the job? Or you cannot put a partially filled pan on the scale?

Thanks

As long as you zero the scale with your pan, then bulk add powder it will finish it of. That’s how lots of guys did it in the early days.

Have you not tried doing it yet or are you having trouble?

Have not tried yet. Just did not know if it would throw off the scale/v3 sync or whatever

Zero your pan like stated above. Make sure you let your scale warm up. If you leave your scale on, make sure you recheck the zero of the pan weight. My scale will drift over time. I forgot to check a few days ago and had reloaded 15 cartridges doing a ladder before I realized it had drifted. The case should have been full past the shoulder and was not. The scale had drifted .5 or so. I guess my grip n pull just wanted some attention.

I have not tried it, I bought one tho. but I think FclassJohn recommended it in prior threads to get a line conditioner, to regulate power from the outlet and removal of fluorescent lights to help with drifting. Sorry John if it was not you. Can’t remember.

Does Tripp Lite offer multiple line conditioners? Any recommendations?

The autotrickler just trickles until it reaches the target number. It doesn’t care if you start from zero or .05 grains under.
^^^ this.

Even with the auto thrower attached, the thrower won't run unless the scale starts at zero but the trickler will run until it gets to the target weight. Example: Target weight is 40.0, put a pan with 38.0 grains on the scale, the trickler will run it up to 40.0.

This is my simplified setup. I set my charge on my fx120i, throw with my Harrell’s and then place the pan on the fx120i and it trickles up to the charge. Load the case, throw another charge and while it is trickling up seat the bullet. Goes pretty fast.
