AD FX 120i vs Satorius Entris 64-1s

Thanks for the input. Have you done test loads with both scales to see what your ES and SD with both scales over a chronograph would be?

Not yet. Maybe when I get a LabRadar!

For some loads I do increase the charge weight tolerance from +/-0.01 grains to +/-0.02 or 0.03, and the target at 1000 yards tells me that's fine.

..

I will start by saying I'm a sling/irons shooter. I just finished 16 lbs. of H-4831sc and moved to a second lot of the same powder. The velocity dropped was about 60 fps. with the same load, so I will be obviously be re-working that load. I'm shooting a 6.5mm improved that will shoot in the 1's to 2's at 100 yds. The new batch will remain to be seen if it performs as well. I use a RCBS Charge Master and have no complaints with achieving single digit ES and ES. Could I do better with the scales, I don't know. What I do know is an "X" is my friend and my system is working for me.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

This Satorius Entris 64-1s will be very good for me to upgrade to.I use to load up 300-400 on a weekend. When I go shooting 50rd some of my loads sometimes would be spot on and the vertical spread would drive me nuts at long range. Beam scales are good but I want better.Have to much money already spent on this hobby for a ok balance.

I am thinking of getting the Sartorius Entris 64-1s. Should I order any optional supplies with it? Can i just use my RCBS Chargemaster scale pan? Assume a certified check weight not necessary in what we do? I will order the Omega 2 trickler also. Thanks for the guidance.

Also, does the Sartorius need 30 min to warm up for most accuracy? Can I just leave it on all the time or will this wear it out prematurely? What is recommended method of use?

If purchasing the Sartorius Entris you will want to pick up another weighing pan and yes you can leave the unit on all the time. It has a stand by mode so you will not have to wait for it to warm up. Incredibly stable. I use a Chargemaster to to throw a load .2 grains under the target and then transfer the load over to the Sartorius and then trickle up to the final charge with an Omega II trickler. By the time I'm done with the final trickling the Chargemaster has throw another load. Goes by pretty quick. I can throw and weigh a charge, load the case and seat a bullet at a rate of about 1 per minute.

Does anyone know where I can find the Tall all Glass Draft shield for the AD FX 120i. All I've been able to find is the shorter all Plastic Draft Shield!

Thanks for your time.

With just over 7 months with my scale Im very happy with it and with the omega trickler. It is worth the coin. saves time which is the real money we all have a limit of

I have had a Satorious 64 for 6 months now, found it used on Ebay and saved a few coins ;D. Works great, I never realized how inconsistent my other scales actually were till I got this.

I can't help you with your specific request, but if you decide to go with the FX-120i get it here: http://cambridgeenviro.com/index.php

I ordered one yesterday, and got it for $575 CAD which was $475.29 US. That includes shipping.

Thank you so much for the link!! I found that with the Canadian Dollar now, it is $450.00 or so. What was weird was the way you order. You submit your order and then wait? Was this a long process? Did they get back to you soon?

I apologize for my ignorance, I just have never had an online vendor request that I submit and then ask to pay later.

Answering my own quote and question. I just got the email with a link to go back into the website and issue payment. Everything from Paypal. It was very slick. Not the best exchange rate, but pretty close. Still, shipped it was $490.00. Not bad!!!

I bought a scale from him a couple years ago. He did not hold back about what he considered a good scale and what wasn't. An A hole? Maybe so, but he didn't quibble.

It will stabilize after 30 minutes but will be accurate moments after turning on after taring...just that it will drift a little until stabilized. When I say a little, about 1 kernel weight of H4350 in my experience (.025-.030gr) and I just tare between each weighing until it settles in which usually in 5-10 cases.

I WOULD NOT leave it on full time or even plugged in full time as it is a delicate expensive piece of equipment that can be damaged by a large electrical surge or worse, a lightning strike on the grid. I have mine run through a Tripplite Lc1200 surge protector/line conditioner but I still unplug the power line after use and do not use during electrical storms. It might be a little obsessive but I have had lightning strikes take out electronic equipment in the past and I don't want to fry the Sart.
